Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

I asked him between gulps and he was diagnosed type 2 a couple of months prior. The look on the DN's face was priceless. I think she would have slapped him if he wasn't 6'6" and built like brick outhouse lol

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

I am half way through the X-PERT course. Although they are far more accepting of the LCHF approach nowadays, they still are a long way from advocating it fully. It is interesting to observe the other members attitudes and (generally speaking) complete lack of understanding of their condition...

    Codefree Meter Cases

Hi Grant, I have the soft case that comes with the meter and was wondering if anyone had found a tougher, more protective case. I carry mine around in a rucksack a lot and was concerned about sitting on it. I'll take a look through your link and see if I can find something that can withstand...

    Unexpected replacement pricker (FastClix)

Hi all, I've just arrived home to find a newly delivered FastClix waiting for me. I have only had my original one for 2 months and had no problems, so wondered if these companies tend to send out new prickers as a matter of course? Best A

    How are you all monitoring

My diabetes nurse suggested I didn't need to monitor myself. This is based on nothing more than the health service not wanting to pay out for the strips. Almost all on here have bought their own kit, with the Codefree meter being extremely popular because the strips for it are the cheapest to...

Did anyone else take a back step after the diabetic nurse??

....I don't use a pillow. I hang from the ceiling to stop my bloomin' feet from hurting all the time! :banghead: The bed is just there to catch me if I lose my grip during the night.

Did anyone else take a back step after the diabetic nurse??

I believe chorizo only averages about 3% carbs (very low). I have just bought a whopper and intend frying it up with some chicken to make a warm salad. Until I cook it I will sleep with it under the bed and use it as protection in case I get burglars  It's funny what being diagnosed...

Misdiagnosed as type 2 - how common is it?

Thank you all for responding and sharing your experiences, opinions and extensive knowledge. I'm not sitting here thinking that I have been misdiagnosed. It's more a case of wanting to check out all possibilities before my enquiring mind starts to shrivel up from lack of sugar :hungover...

    Meal and food ideas

I recently discovered these from Amazon Lush n Low Shirataki Noodles (Zero Carb) - 200g Only £1.30 per pack, but as stated above, they need a few rinses before cooking as they stink like old kippers :p That said, they are perfect once mixed with a nice sauce. Another new staple for my...
