    DVLA and Type 2 Diabetes

If you are on insulin, you need to inform DVLA. If your diabetes is well controlled, you should be ok but they will write to your doc and there will be paperwork. Good luck. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Why would anyone go to A&E with just high bg?

Sorry chaps but this is getting personal so I'm going to close this. If anyone wishes to start a genuine thread regarding high BG levels or DKA, please do. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Why would anyone go to A&E with just high bg?

You are not listening are you. It's not high BG levels that are life threatening, it's high levels of ketones which can lead to DKA. Not sure if you are trying to provoke a reaction or not but please refrain from posting about something you clearly don't fully understand. Sent from the...

Why would anyone go to A&E with just high bg?

It's not just the high BG levels. Google DKA then come back and comment. It's a life threatening emergency. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Frozen Shoulder

Wow, I hope it's just coincidence Andy but I have had shoulder pain and right arm pain for about 9 weeks now. I've been to docs twice and walk in centre twice. I can't get rid of it. It even wakes me up at night. I went back to see doc a couple of days ago and finally got decent pain killers and...

    Is Type-1 Reversible ?

I am sure you mean well but to suggest that diabetes is the fault of a poor relationship is totally wrong and unfair. This may have been the case with you but please refrain from making sweeping statements. Often parents feel guilty as it is if a child develops diabetes, please don't make them...

Is it just me ?? ..

I still think you need to record results and speak to your DSN. I would guess there is more risk running high ( DKA ) than low. You may have heard of someone dying from a hypo but it is extremely rare.

Medic alert bracelets yay or nay!!!

I know exactly how you feel but if they were discreet, sort of defeats the object. The idea is that someone will spot it in an emergency and take appropriate action.

Is it just me ?? ..

So what are your pre-bed levels and waking levels ? If they are dropping too much, you are on too much medication. I understand the fear of hypo but running high carries long term risk ( which you are already aware of ). If you keep a diary of all carbs, meds and BG readings for a while and...

Could it be the new batch of test strips or should I worry?

Seems like you certainly get plenty of exercise as you say and your diet cannot really be adjusted further so at least you can safely say you have done everything in your power to stave off meds. I would be very happy with mid 5's but if not, Metformin is a relatively safe drug. Good luck ! Mo

Could it be the new batch of test strips or should I worry?

Hi Totto, mid 5's are still pretty good so I wouldn't worry too much, just keep monitoring. I guess you've tested current batch of test strips with control solution ? If this small increase resumes when you start another batch, you will at least know for sure and can make a decision whether to...
