    AnyQuestions.

I'm a bit lost with this thread. Shall we start again. Welcome to the forum Gabby, babyflumpy, we are a forum for diabetics or family/friends of those with diabetes. If you want advice or support, just ask. There are various parts to the forum, T1, T2, General discussion, jokes and humour etc...

How about a little bit about yourself and your history as an intro ? Nobody knows everything there is to know about diabetes, that's why we're here :-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Anonymous Question Can I have a drink?

Well, the question was "can" we, not "should" we. There was no mention of BG levels either and even if they're bothered. As you say, not enough info to answer sufficiently. I still stick by my response though, if they want to drink, they can :-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Anonymous Question Can I have a drink?

Doesn't matter if T1, T2 or whatever, if someone wants to drink 5-6 points once a month, up to them. So, short answer, yes. It's not as good as drinking 2 pints every week but better than 5-6 pints every day :-)

Doctors: Please treat me like that medical student who sat in the corner watching....

@phoenix, if I were a doc/DSN or consultant, I would quiver in my boots when you walked in lol ! There can't be many healthcare professionals with your knowledge of the condition :-)

Happy Birthday Doc ! My treat of choice is Ben & Jerry's Phish Food Ice Cream :)

Doctors: Please treat me like that medical student who sat in the corner watching....

Well done Steven. I wouldn't have bothered with the "degree from Oxford" bit but bravo for voicing your opinion. They fail to realise occasionally that many diabetics are experts on the condition and their own body.

Panic stations !! - my GC has gone up

Try not to stress over one reading. going from a 7 to an 8 is within meters accepted tolerance anyway. Keep a BG diary and look for trends rather than one-off readings. The fact you had a hard workout may also cause levels to rise a little but the benefits are worth it. You've made some great...

    BG meter

Nice result John. As Jim says, most will supply a meter free as the profits are in the test strips. You can also get yourself a spare meter, in case you lose yours or it breaks.

    Type 2 but...

DAFNE is just a course that teaches carb counting and flexibility to adjust insulin. It's nothing to do with your diagnosis.

    Gaining weight - help

Hang in there Scandichic, in the big plan, it's just a blip ! You've made an amazing transformation so far, those numbers will drop again soon. It could be the stress or time of the month but whatever, stick with it.

    Alcohol intolerant

Never heard of anyone else suffering like that ! Probably just an allergy, unrelated to diabetes. Unless this started since diagnosis ? That would be my worst nightmare lol ! Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

My low(er) carb journey as a veggie

Why don't you start your own vegetarian thread and keep it up with regular recipes ? Bit like a blog ? I'm sure there are others like you who would love to post and share. I don't know how to start new sections, otherwise I would. Maybe @Giverny will possibly consider it in the future if it...
