    What's your diet and hba1c

@tim2000s I think a low hba1c is around 30 but I'm having trouble getting there and am not sure if it's worth the effort (food restriction wise). I think anything under 40 is fantastic (reasonably low) and will hopefully stop long term complications.

    What's your diet and hba1c

The best way to start ww3 is to criticise information other people are interested in. If you're not interested, then just move along to the next thread, no one is making you read it. I am interested in trends on how various carbs levels affect hba1c and have not seen a similar thread since I've...

    What's your diet and hba1c

I'm interested to see how T1s are going with various diets. Have you been on a low carb or reduced carb diet for more than 3 months? Can you get a low hba1c on a full carb diet? For this poll please treat low carb <= 50g a day, reduced carb <= 100g a day.

When is a good time to inject Lantus?

I split my lantus dose, 7am/pm, I wasn't getting full 24h coverage on single dose. Pretty good now

    Is Tresiba any good?

Tresiba isn't available in Australia yet but it's currently being evaluated and will hopefully be on the PBS soon. I'm currently locked into 2 shots of Lantus per day, a single shot tails off at 20+ hours for me. What's your experience with Tresiba?, better that Lantus and Levemir? Does it give...

    Extreme Hunger

Carbs make you hungry, maybe try some higher protein foods so you can eat more for the same carbs.

Need a Lantus meter with memory

I swapped to Levemir just so I could use the Echo, I then started having an allergic reaction to the Levemir and had to go back to Lantus. I was so annoyed with the Sanofi pens that I developed a method to use Lantus in the Echo! The main problem is that a lantus cartridge is slightly fatter and...

    Covering protein

I am getting a bit of variation in my bgls when I have a high protein meal and I haven't found a good reliable method of covering it. My favorite protein meal is a nicely bbq'd salmon steak (crispy skin), the salmon is usually around 200g (50g protein). This meal seems to peak my bgls at 6+...

    Accu Chek Mobile

I must have 10 different meters in my cupboard but the AccuChek Mobile is the meter I use every day, it's so convenient not having to handle strips. I get about a 5% error rate on 'not enough blood' or 'meter error'. Luckily in Australia, all strips cost the same $16.20 per 100, what do you pay...

    Quick Intro...

Hi All, I found this forum a few months ago after started on my low carb lifestyle and thought it's time I introduced myself and get a bit more involved. I've had T1 for 43 years. Wow, seems a long time when you write it down, I'm still pretty healthy though. Most of my life I've had 2 needles...
