Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Everyone has their own methods and what works for one doesn't necessarily work for others :) but thank you for your suggestions!

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Considering i had 2-3 years off the forum, that should go up to about 30 ha! Still nothing on you, but your posts always make me smile :)

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Haven't tried basal testing yet - i need to plan ahead! But i'm eating quite low carb at the minute so should be easy enough :)

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Ooh goody :) 35u Tresiba. It's a lot but i can manage it during the day. Night time needs a high before bed reading but i can predict it.

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

It is very easy to get my readings up to 10 before bed ha! Although like you say, its harder after a low carby tea. I tend to have a fairly milky brew in the evenings so i don't inject for that if i've had a low carb tea, if i've had potatoes, pasta, rice etc i'll include it but round down my...

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Hi @KK123 ! Thanks for sharing this! This is exactly what is happening with me. My daytime readings are manageable and predictable but i drop a lot at night and especially first thing in the morning. I try to go to bed with my bgs around 10 so i don't go hypo, at that i'll typically wake up at...

Can your aversion/ reaction to food change with t1

What types of food are spiking? Your natural insulin resistance might have changed which means you may need to juggle your insulin to carb ratios about, if that's what you use :)

Is this what a liver dump feels like?

Morning everyone! First, i feel the need to apologise. This is my second post in as many days. Moderators must be sick of seeing my face all over the forum :angelic: But my grumble today is... liver dumping! How does it make you feel? My readings have been slightly down overnight, i've woken...

Free short courses for Diabetes Education

Thanks everyone! I was hoping to set this up as a sort of library of simple self education resources for newly diagnosed diabetics. It's great that they can come on here to ask questions but i appreciate having everyone shout out their own methods of managing can be confusing, especially at first!

Free short courses for Diabetes Education

Morning everyone! It's a whole new week, hope you've all had a good weekend? I've just seen a comment on a post somewhere grumbling about the lack of "diabetes education" and its got me thinking... I am currently a student at the Open University where they have thousands of free courses in every...

    Prevention/cure

I think there has been 3 different proposed "cures" in the last 15 years, which is when i remember getting excited about the first one. There have been so many research articles that i kept up with for a few years. You stop believing them pretty quickly. Although potential "cures" have been out...

    Too much insulin ??

Me too ha! Multiple bolus is fine, your sugars come first. Weight loss is a bonus but it will be slow, so if you're gonna try it make sure you balance things :) i might have asked already but do you use the Carbs n Cals app? It's great :)

    Too much insulin ??

Personally, i would say bolus as many times as you feel you need to. I've done 3 so far today. I think insulin impedes weight loss and metabolism from what i've read on here. I might not be right in that but i know for a fact that the more insulin you take, the harder it is to lose weight...

    Come on T1s!

I spoke too soon, not really a hypo but my lowest reading since i started of 4.3 :( Do you think your brain chemistry changes slightly when you're doing well (or at least, better than normal)? I've just gone into the kitchen at work to make some toast and a brew, someone has brought in cakes...

    Family history question

I have a family history of T2 diabetes in my grandparents and 2 aunties, but that was more lifestyle choice. My parents were healthy (my dad was a boxer, so definitely not overweight or anything). I was 4 or 5 when diagnosed, which was definitely not due to lifestyle choice. I find it easier to...

Unexplained highs in the late evening

Lantus doesn't actually last a full day in your body - it's supposed to last UP TO 24hrs but i found it started running out after about 22hrs, as i was regularly going high in the evenings. So a daily injection at the same time each day means you're not fully covered. I went from Lantus to...

    Come on T1s!

I would definitely fib to make my life easier with the Libre haha! But they ask to look at my meter to get an idea of what my readings are like when i go for my checkups :( this isn't wholly accurate as i do panic and start testing and getting better control in the week or 2 leading up to my...

    Come on T1s!

Thank you @porl69 , i'm fine with both apps, it just linking between them so i can upload all my injections and carbs to diasend. I can input them no problem on the Contour app but it says App connections aren't available in my the UK :(

    Come on T1s!

Hi folks - day 4 and still at it, starting to feel better physically too. Not quite as exhausted all the time. I can tell this because i've been able to cut back on the coffee :D Been uploading to diasend and it's worth it just to watch my average dropping. It's fallen by 2.4mmol since Monday...

    Ridiculously high :(

Small amount of fast acting sugar for me (like a few swigs of lucozade), wait 10 minutes then go make some toast to supplement the sugar spike. But i tend to overcompensate too, if i go really low it takes a long time to feel normal again! Sometimes i keep having carbs and sugar until i feel...
