    £12 for a Dr's letter to join a gym!!!!

National Health GPs can & do charge for services not in their contract. Before I retired I was a HGV driver & had to have a 5 yearly medical examination. The most I ever paid was £175 & the least was £125, not always covered by my employer so it was up to me to pay. £12 for a letter is nothing...

Regarding Weetabix for breakfast, you will find the rules say preparing & cooking a meal. Not microwaving a meal or eating a bowl of cereal ! Appeal.

    Gliclazide is it that bad?

Gliclazide is known to make many people put weight on. Ask your doctor for Sitagliptin instead, much more expensive that's why some doctors can't / won't prescribe.

Type 1: How to tell dvla you are diabetic

Depends on what meds you take. I was told Gliclazide is a must notifiable drug which can cause a hypo, whether you've had one or not. Not worth the risk of a fine if you don't.

    Personal independence payment

The tribunal is not as daunting as some people imagine. One judge, one doctor & one dissibilty advisor. The tribunal is quite informal with no members of the public there.

    Personal independence payment

60% of tribunal appeals are won. That's 60% of people who bother to appeal. If everyone appealed the figure would be much higher. If you believe you have genuine medical issues that affect your day to day living, then get advice from CAB or similar & appeal. Don't forget that you only have 28...

DWP have stopped my pip what do I do

Apply for MR when that is refused then apply for tribunal appeal. Essential that you have proper advice from CAB or welfare rights. Gather as many reports from your GP & consultants etc. DWP are quite ruthless about refusing to renew PIP payments, don't be deterred because 60% of claimants...

I urge you to get proper advice from your CAB or welfare rights centre, trust me claiming PIP is very difficult. http://www.youreable.com/forums/forum.php

The Hidden Killer. Type 2 Diabetes.

The biggest problem is junk food & processed easily available food. Too much McDonalds, Burger King etc. Idle parents giving their kids cans of fizzy pop & junk food. Around here Greggs sausage rolls are referred to as "Kid's Dummies" ! Anything to keep the kids quiet. Look at a fat parent/s &...

ESA payments. Chronically ill will not be re-tested.

What the Govt isn't saying is that those rescources freed up by not re-assessing long term sickness claimants will be used to clamp down on other benefit recipients !

My HGV license renewal a few years ago cost £175 for ten minutes work. Can't be done on NHS.

    Gliclazide and weight gain

Gliclazide is well known for weight gain, see if you can switch to the more expensive Sitagliptin, that is weight neutral.
