PSA: Watch out for seat belts!

I'm not sure which part of the body you are saying you have trouble with, but have you tried sitting on both sides of the car (when you're a passenger)? I wear a dexcom cgm sensor on my stomach, and if the seatbelt is the wrong "direction" it sometimes crosses over the sensor area. (For example...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Sorry and hugs! Despite your rough night, you still got a winner of a fasting blood sugar so well done! I hope you are able to get some rest and comfort today.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Below 3's are always horrifying! You must have been terrified at failing to fix the problem after so much time, glad you eventually resolved it! My very first "almost hypo" ever, a 4.1 just a couple of days after diagnosis, was treated with yoghurt lol. (Actually I'm eating a yoghurt right now...

Hope you're feeling ok now, below 3 hypos are always unpleasant!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks for the bears and the hugs! I slept for about 20min in the morning but woke up to correct a falling blood sugar, so not much rest. At least my sensor is working ok, so fingers crossed for some decent sleep tonight.

Insulin pump with CGM - am I eligible??

I can't advise on eligibility, but many people find that using a pump even without CGM improves their control, and/or is a more flexible way of diabetes management more suited to their lifestyle. I've heard mixed reviews of the medtronic cgm, if possible i would recommend the dexcom which is...

Scared 21 Year Old Type 1

Hi! I'm also a T1 student, a bit younger than you. I've had t1 for nearly 3 years now. I tend to panic about everything, often because there is a good reason to panic, but you can find a source of comfort in the forums here. No matter what is happening to you, there is almost always someone else...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Finger prick at 7.7 I had a TERRIBLE night. Yesterday was dexcom sensor change day, except that it didn't work properly so I had to stay up late watching it, then decided at 2:30am to change it again. Still waiting for it to wake up (so I won't even get to eat my full breakfast). I also did two...

    Blood donation with Diabetes?

Wow teeth thing is freaky! I don't donate blood for many many reasons (T1 diabetic, problems with dizziness/low blood pressure, weight is too low and doctor worried about iron) but good on you for donating.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Sounds like a fun day! Just this afternoon I saw a somewhat uncommon bird fly past my window (most likely a seasonal visitor). Hope you spot some cool birds :)

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I'm guessing a combination of basal being slightly too high in that time period (yay honeymoon lol) and the carbs from the pizza hitting slightly more slowly than other carbs. Usually the speed at which pizza hits doesn't bother me, but combined with the basal issues and possibly exercise...

PSA: Watch out for seat belts!

On the weekend I went out of town with some friends, and was a passenger in my friend's car that I haven't been in before. About half an hour into the trip, my pump gave an Occlusion Error (something I've never had before). I panicked a lot, then changed position in the seat and this fixed it...

    Help ketones!

Glad you got better! With such high ketones I would consider hospital, especially if you have trouble getting back down.

Type 1 and living alone, is it safe?

This is absolutely horrifying! Lucky for you that your liver helped out but I cannot imagine how awful this situation must be. Good neighbours! One of our neighbours is a doctor, but I'm hardly ever home alone so I doubt I'd need help from them. Once I had an absorption issue and so my blood...

Every So Often... Bloods just won't go down.

Is it possible to use a cgm or Libre, even just for a short time, to give you a better idea of what's going on? I agree with some other suggestions that have been posted. For the milder highs eg 12s I would use a combination of exercise, drinking LOTS of water, and insulin to get down. For the...

    Retail Therapy Ideas?

To quote Professor Albus Dumbledore, "One can never have enough socks"! I totally agree with him, recently I picked up some cool animal patterned socks (parrots, zebras, koalas and ducks). Or some nice shoes! Or shirts, pants etc. But ok, if you're not looking for clothing then I would seriously...

Hey I had pizza too! Last time I ate it I was fine, but yesterday I had some sudden drops beforehand.
