What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3 this morning and eat pretty much the same as my 5.7 , 5.8s I’ve been having all week, anyone else get lower numbers later in the week? Friday seems to be my best day maybe because I get up a hour earlier?

    New T2D diagnosis.

You need to get on the low carb train, about 20gs a day, your numbers will come down pretty quickly

    Hbac1 vs fasting bg

Thankyou, and like you said non diabetics don’t generally test anyway so not sure why that number is relevant

    Hbac1 vs fasting bg

Also that’s very true about non diabetics are not gonna test! And a fbg of 5.8 is considered pre diabetes ? Or am I wrong??

    Hbac1 vs fasting bg

Yeah i don’t stay high for long, generally rarely go into 6s at all, I generally have a decent lunch a snack at 5 then tea around 8, carb wise most of the times around 20g never exceed 50g, more than happy with my numbers it’s just the morning one I find very frustrating sometimes.

    Hbac1 vs fasting bg

Thanks , it’s just I read somewhere that your fasting fasting bg needs to be below 5.6 to be considered in remission ?

    Hbac1 vs fasting bg

Hi all, so my hbac1 is 32 ( very happy with that) however still getting fasting readings of prediabetic. This isn’t always the case - sometimes I wake up to 4s more often than not it’s mid 5s however more than I like I wake up to 5.7 - 5.8 sometimes even 6! Generally during the day I run in mid...

    Fasting blood glucose

So I was reading that fasting blood glucose should be 5.6 or under to be considered normal. So would a normal non diabetic person sometimes get readings above this in the morning ? Or would it always be below 5.6 no matter what they ate or how they slept etc..... Thankyou

Yet another hospital food horror story

To be fair after a recent stint in hospital I thought the options were pretty good, easy enough to stay low carb, omelette , full fat yoghurt, salad, veg etc.... Despite that the foods horrible and it all smells the same horrible hospital smell, so I’d rather go hungry anyway

    95% chocolate at Lidl

Yeah I can see the whole grating thing would be nice , 85% seems to have very little impact on my bg, as long as I only have half the bar

    Chocolates

I knew I’d done bad, expected to pay aswell but got away with that one [emoji26]

    95% chocolate at Lidl

Anything about 85% is horrible! Just gloops in your mouth. I get my chocolate fix with Hershey’s 100% cocoa with a big dollop of skinny sauce chocolate fudge - 3grams of carbs and no sugar per cup and once you master it it’s a very good hot chocolate

    Chocolates

I had this Saturday with popcorn at cinema, I didn’t have any wife did as it was sweet and quite carby, when the film started I couldn’t keep my hands out of it, was dreading testing when home came up 4.6 though! Strange how things react, I want them chocolates though!!
