What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

This sort of thing, although ours was from Lidl and came with gochujang instead of sweet chilli https://www.marksandspencer.com/food/cauliflower-popcorn-with-a-sweet-chilli-dip/p/fdp60710275#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r3c2_search-term-cauliflower Basically lightly battered gently spiced cauliflower...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@Annb, that's a brilliant idea for a future trip, "Traffic-cone decorated Statues of Scotland"! I was only aware of the Queen's Street one, but that was over 20 years ago so perhaps it's set a trend in the meantime. We'll keep an eye out for more and take some pics. 11.5 today, not...

Discussion of low carb diets and cholesterol

It hasn't elevated mine. Unfortunately I wasn't given results for all the subcategories but my total cholesterol changed by 0.1 mmol/l and LDL is currently 1.6 mmol/l after nearly 10 years of LCHF. Admittedly I don't eat as low as keto levels of carbs most days, but I love my saturated animal...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I remember having kid in Lanzarote 30 years ago, it's a speciality of the island. I seem to remember the kid was barbecued, it was very young and tender. I don't remember ever eating mature goat, but if it's like mutton it must be delicious. Need to gently prod hubby into sorting out the slow...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Not strictly according to the 7pm rule but I didn't eat after dinner at 9pm yesterday, which is incredibly early for me as I usually need a bedtime snack in order to sleep. Got to see if I can get these pesky FBGs down somehow!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday I had Brie with a tomato Roast pork with mushrooms, onion, red pepper Skipped bedtime snack as experiment. Today so far Kimchi udon noodle soup with added sliced pork, veg and a poached egg. About 40-45g carbs and no noticeable influence on BGs compared to a lower carb meal...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

When I first read that I thought you were pricking your nose for the test! I wonder if it would work, ears are supposed to bleed copiously... 9.5 today. Tried not eating after 9pm. It was horrid (I usually need a bedtime snack in order to sleep) but if it consistently brings my FBG down to...

Same with my marriage certificate. It certainly came home, in its peculiar long envelope, after I had to show it to the person running my employer's pension scheme over 25 years ago, but it hasn't resurfaced since. It can only be in the "study bedroom", but where? Miss! Miss! I know! Pick me...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Up 0.7 kg over last 4 weeks but that might be due to using scales at clinic instead of home. Safer to say wasn't all actual weight loss, so new calculation is 1.1 kg down over 7 weeks instead. Still 3.1kg down since April yay

    Whats in your kitchen ?

I'm working on it. Hubby says he needs to descale it first, we're in a very hard water area! Most exciting thing in the kitchen today is probably the new panini press thingy (Lidl promotion again)

Strong DP, High BGs and fasting (TRE)

I've read most of the threads about fasting and gained a number of insights, but not seen anything that answers a couple of questions specific to my circumstances. I have a strong DP/FotF and high BGs all day. Typically my first reading after getting up is between 10-12 (can't test in bed), and...

How do you fast if you're supposed to have breakfast?!

I know this is an old thread, but people still read it and I wanted to correct the assertion that Mr Kellogg was a Quaker. Both John Harvey Kellogg and his brother Will Keith were Seventh Day Adventists, although John was disfellowshipped as some of his beliefs contradicted theirs. Totally with...

    Dawn of the intermittent faster!

If I'm ever in a position to cook again I'm trying this. I love roasted mushrooms (actually mushrooms cooked any way or raw) and this sounds equally delicious!
