Steady rise in HBA1C - no change in diet?

These were my thoughts - nice to have some similarity - thanks :)

Steady rise in HBA1C - no change in diet?

Yep, thyroid was checked and is fine - middle of the range. Stress - for sure, who isn't at the moment?! No COVID as yet - although probably just a matter of time now - teacher! Sleep 7-8 hours most nights so good on that front. Medication change happened when the rises started to occur - will...

Steady rise in HBA1C - no change in diet?

I'm really not sure what else can come off my diet - I eat meat, vegetables, cheese, eggs, greek yoghurt, nuts - all food is home prepped so things can't sneak past - so on the odd occasion I am consuming something I shouldn't I do know I am doing so. I learnt how to do this way of eating from...

Steady rise in HBA1C - no change in diet?

Hi all, I was diagnosed 10 years ago and switched my way of eating to LCHF, which I have maintained along the way. I changed doctors and consequently my Metformin SR was changed to to the cheaper Sukkarto option. Since then my HBA1C has gone up by a couple of points every time it has been...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

6.5 this morning - control has slipped a bit despite little change in LC diet. Trying to be very strict with myself.

Sukkarto SR v Glucophage SR: Problems

I've been on Sukkarto SR for 3 years during which time my numbers have crept up. Each HBa1C being up, now at 50, which had triggered them putting me on a new med Forxiga. I've been testing a lot more since starting this drug as the side effects listed for Forxiga are quite scary. My numbers are...

    Diabetic Friendly take-away

I have found kebabs a good option for me, particularly partial to a chicken doner. I usually leave 3/4 of the pitta though. Also a lot of Indian dishes are good and I have found actually asking for no added sugar can be helpful, my takeway rang me back to tell me one of the dishes I had selected...

    Accuracy of meters

I didn't get any on prescription until I actually asked my doctor for some strips. I get one pot every 2-3 months when my repeat prescription gets filled. He didn't seem to object but it certainly wasn't offered at the start (2 years ago now)..

You have a lot more D experience than me - I am a year in. Good luck anyway, I hope it all settles down for you...x

    Unquechable thirst:(

They are false symptoms - real hypos are low 3s and less. Because your body is operating at much higher levels it signals incorrectly. I got these too in the first few months after I was diagnosed. You have to reduce your levels if you want the thirst (and other complications which will follow)...

    Unquechable thirst:(

Hi Lauren, When your BGS are better controlled the thirst will go. You should be under 6 most of the time, the exception being post meal times. At 2hours you should try to come in with levels under 7.8, ideally under 6.7. You need to test your BGs before and after meals and rule out foods...

Ask him to switch you to extended release version. It is much better. Also, it can help to take pills in the middle of your meal rather than before or after...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3 this morning. Usually somewhere between 5 and 6, although I briefly visited the 4's when they changed my Metformin to SR. Only lasted about 4-5 days before going back to the 5's though so I guess this is where my body wants to be...
