Yes they do the half unit but that doesn't help me with my basal. It's the digital display I need so that I don't get confused as to whether I've already injected at night or not.

I've been in touch with Sanofi and they have told me they don't manufacture any pens with digital displays. I'm sure in time to come they may well do, just have to wait and see. Thank you for your help anyway.

Your grandmother sounds like mine. She almost convinced my mother that the doctors were only experimenting on me and she should stop my injections. Thank goodness my father had more sense.

I find having a cool shower before bed helps as well as having the fan on all night.

I remember 1976 only too well. As you say being younger then meant it wasn't too much of a problem, except that I had a 15 month old who kept throwing up (usually over me) because of the heat.

I agree. Being able to do a half unit correction is so useful. I used to over correct because of only having whole units then find I needed to compensate by having something to eat because I would then go lower than I wanted to be. A tough balancing act!

If you mean remove the entire lancet device, there is a lock on the back of the Accuchek which you slide to the right and hold. Then you simply slide the lancet device downwards. If you want to change the lancet itself, it couldn't be easier. Just pull the tip off that has the number of...

I'll make enquiries about this and see if the Lantus cartridge will fit, as it's considerably wide than Novorapid cartridge. Does it have the digital display? Thank you for the link.

Unfortunately, the Lantus insulin cartridges won't fit into the Echo pen as that would be so helpful. My diabetic nurse has searched for a similar pen that will but neither she nor I can find such a pen.

It also shows you when you last had your injection and how many units you had. I find this extremely useful as after so many years and injections, I can't always remember whether I've injected or not.

The silver Novo Pens I had weren't Echo, they were just one unit pens.

My Diabetic Nurse always selects red as requested but as yet they always turn out to be blue. Nevertheless, I shall keep trying for a red.

I have four of the blue Echo pens now, can't seem to get the red even though I've requested them a couple of times. They must be very popular in that colour.

That's really good to know, so it's a bit of a mystery. The only other thing is whether you've recently started on new medication that doesn't agree with you, but I've never known diabetes to be a cause of shortness of breath.

I don't feel this is due to your diabetes. You need to seek medical advice if it continues.
