Hey guys!
So recently I’ve been having a fair few nocturnal hypos. It’s mostly my fault, my basal is fine but I think I’m over correcting to bear bedtime. However what’s concerning me is that I’m quite hypo aware when I’m awake, but I don’t seem to be waking up when I’m hypo when I’m asleep! If...
I’m actually in the process of getting a pump! Thinking of going with omnipod. I didn’t realise you can’t go in the scanners with them on!! Glad you mentioned that, I normally get a letter from my gp just in case.
Yes I would never ever travel without insurance just a little concerned of the cost
Hi guys!
I’m going to the big apple in November! Super excited! Just wondering what America’s customs and security’s are like with diabetic supplies, whenever i fly or go abroad they never ask me anything but I know how strict they are.
Will my travel insurance be ridiculously high? Had some...
Hello lovely diabuddies!
So I am so blessed to have been funded for a pump! Hurrah! Only took ten years! So they’ve given me a choice of either the Omnipod, or the Medtronic 640g
I feel that st the mo I’m leaning more towards the omnipod as I wear the libre so I am used to having gadgets...
Hi everyone.
Looking to start a type one meet up, we can go out for walks, coffee, bowling whatever! Think I would just like to meet and talk to people going through similar struggles.
If anyone is interested or wants to suggest somewhere to meet?
Hopefully will get enough people

Hi to you both! I’m currently in the process of being changed onto the pump and I get a choice of different pumps.. one being the omnipod. How do you both find it? I’m totally brand new to pumping in general but prefer the idea that you wear it on your skin rather than clipping it to clothes
That made me smile so much, I’ve been so active these past two days, gym loads, no salt, eating well, better control with all the activity. Just hope they stay stable or maybe gonup. I hope I’ll be as lucky as you! Are you type one?
Yes I have been thinking of seeing a dietician but the one at my local centre seems a bit... dippy [emoji23] puts me off! As I want to get serious. Could you private message me the info you have on dr Bernstein’s methods? I have done some research but haven’t found loads [emoji4]
Thanks so much for your advice. I do try and limit my carbs to once a day and small amount to none but I have been a little lapse recently. I will tighten my carb intake looking at dr Bernstein’s method. I am now also considering lowering my protein intake as that could be affecting my kidneys...
Haha! Well funnily enough I’ve booked back on my boxing class tonight! Don’t feel much like it, rather sit in front of the telly and wallow but hey it’s not gonna help is it?! Hopefully take some frustration out on the poor unsuspecting person who spars with me [emoji23][emoji23]
Thank you for your kind words and support. I’m on MDI at present (fiasp and lantus) but I have just been approved funding for a pump! So just trying to choose the right pump for me. I know what you mean about optimism it just the control freak inside me feels so lost! Hoping the pump will...
Hi there! I had emergency surgery March last year where I sustained AKI whilst in hospital then the day after it increased to 70 and it must of come back down and never improved? I feel a little dissapointed it’s been this way for a year and no one has told me. I researched what you recommended...
I have been 10 years diabetic. I suffered with diabulmia for the first 6 years so had terrible control, I didn’t care what happened to my health as long as I was thin. The PST three years I’ve changed it all around, got a stable hba1c it was 58 unfortunately due to home circumstances and stress...
Hi All.
I’m looking for some support and maybe even reassurance. I have proteinuria and my last blood test showed my EGFR has gone to 42! And it has stayed at 42 since July last year. The doctor said it wasn’t time to worry and if it gets below 30 she will refer me and didntgove menmuch advice...
Hi Jim
I'm really sorry to hear your struggling. I will tel you a little something about myself. I was diagnosed when I was 17. I am now 25. At first it was scary but a novelty and a challenge. This only lasted a short time and then my realisation that injections finger pricks , people treating...
Amber ignore that old crone. Does she have to struggle with control every day?! NO. You're right loads of different things affect it, see if you can get a continuous glucose monitoring system fitted. You wear it for a week and it measures your sugar by doing like 250 tests a day. And then your...
