Thanks! I work away a lot and stay in hotels so it's not easy to get to see a GP, especially when they say I need to see the same one for continuity. Narrows it down even further. I'll try and get a phone consult. Back in the late 90's I had a similar scare. I went on Atkins and lost 2 stone...

Thank you. My diet has changed a lot so I'm not expecting much from the hbac1 reading from a couple of weeks ago. Hopefully the doctor will just tell me to change my diet and my next lab test will be more reflective of what I'm eating.

    Meter Conversion

Hi. Apologies if this has been answered before. Trying to convert my daily blood sugar meter readings to my lab test hbA1c reading. Initial lab reading was 49. Waiting on result of second lab test. In the meantime my mysugr app estimated hbA1c reading is 5.7 after a couple of weeks of a...

Great call on the Lidl high protein roll. Had one earlier with ham, tomato and a bit of mayo. Just checked blood sugar 2 hours later - 6.1

I can't really call myself a coffee aficionado. I normally have decaf skinny latte. Probably as far removed from a coffee as is possible.

Can I Read Anything Into My First Few Days if Meter Use

OMG. Did a test for lunch to see what a sandwich did. Egg cress and brown bread made me go from 5.7 to 10.3, 2 hours after. Looks like bread is a gonna for me. Used to have loads. Perhaps helps explain my 49 hbA1c

Can I Read Anything Into My First Few Days if Meter Use

Quick question. Apart from risk of infection is there any reason not to use a lancet more than once? Even twice will double their lifespan to keep cost down

Can I Read Anything Into My First Few Days if Meter Use

It's asking for a week at least before estimating. So in a couple of days. I may have been mistaken by not doing a reading before a meal on the basis that the reading two hours after the previous meal was sufficient. Will have to resolve that. Thanks.

I work away and only a costa machine in the building I'm working in - and don't like black coffee. Dilemma!

Waiting result of second hbac1 test (first one was 49). In meantime got a metre and these are my initial readings over the last few days. Can anybody add any commentary to help me understand what these mean? Thanks Nick
