    I have a boil.

Hi, Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with a nasty boil. I had one years ago in a very delicate place when I was undergoing chemotherapy. Really quite painful so I sympathise with you. I used a fresh lemon peel (with a little fruit flesh still on it) and taped it fruit side...

    Stress & Type 2 Diabetes

Hi Jenner68 I absolutely agree with what has been said above about the diet. And frankly diabetic foods and recipes seem designed to give you diabetes rather than help control it!:bored: Up until quite recently I was doing really well with a LCHF (low carb high fat) diet as explained on this...

HbA1c in the normal range - at last

Thanks to all of you. When I was first diagnosed I was really lost. The people on this site were so supportive and kind. It was such a great help. I couldn’t have got this far without you all. BTW broke my foot last week. Well they say pride comes before a fall.

HbA1c in the normal range - at last

Thanks for your replies. My daughter's back is much better now, thanks. No fear that I will not keep up the eating plan. This is just the spur I needed to carry on.

HbA1c in the normal range - at last

Just received my latest HbA1c results and at last, after 18 months on the LCHF diet I am in the normal range with 5.8! Thrilled! And have to say surprised also as I have not been exercising as much as I wanted to because I was looking after daughter who had injured her back. Lots of stress...

Time for new NHS diet guidelines?

Well done to all of you who are trying to change the current dietary trend. The more people and organisations that get behind this the more likely it is that fellow sufferers of diabetes will be given a better choice in their diabetes management rather than having to accept a very narrow mantra...

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Many thanks for this. I will give it a try and let you know.

    pre-diabetes, fasting blood sugars.

Hi 75Bedford. I'm interested in your idea of taking apple cider vinegar before bed. How much do you take?

How to deal with social eating?

Hi Sally66, I really know how you feel. It is really difficult sometimes to find anything suitable to eat at buffet parties. My step-daughter had a 40th birthday party recently and all that was on offer was sandwiches, pizza, quiche, sausage rolls, pastries and cakes, all of which are disaster...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.9. Getting back to where I was about 2 months ago - lots of exercise but always eat something first or else I spike.

    Course of Action - Lifestyle

Hi Hornet's Nest, I'm sorry to hear about your tingling fingers etc. Two friends of mine (one diabetic and the other not) have both recently been to see their GPs with similar symptoms of tingling in their limbs and been put on Vitamin B12 which seems to be helping. Perhaps you could discuss...

Prediabetes High Readings - Does Hayfever Affect BG?

Hi everyone. Thanks for your replies. I tried an experiment and have found that if I take the antihistamine it doesn't really affect my levels but when I stop they start to rise again - figure that one out! So, I guess I will keep taking them as they help with the hayfever and don't seem to...

Prediabetes High Readings - Does Hayfever Affect BG?

Thanks Amy993. Nice to know that I am not unique in my weird responses! Does piriton (antihistamine) make it better or worse? I am wondering whether treating the hayfever will help the BG or whether taking the antihistamine will make it worse. :banghead:

Prediabetes High Readings - Does Hayfever Affect BG?

The pollen season is here in force and, along with the sneezing and sore eyes, I have noticed that my FBG and general levels through the day have increased quite a lot. Does anyone else with hayfever have the same response?

Found the ad again this evening on a different link at the right hand side of the home page under "6 junk foods that may not be as bad as you think". Clicked on it and there was the ad again. I can't believe I'm the only person to be experiencing this. Anyway have cleared all the browsing...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.5 this morning. 4.7 yesterday - nearly fell through the floor as it never gets down to 4. anything! Must have been the 4 hours I spent in the garden!

Fasting-Mimicking Diet Promotes Ngn3-Driven β-Cell Regeneration to Reverse Diabetes

It sounds very similar to the Newcastle and Glasgow University experiment with Roy Taylor. http://www.ncl.ac.uk/magres/research/diabetes/low-calorie-diets/ Very low calorie (800) and liquid diet. Has been proven in humans to reverse the symptoms of diabetes in Type 2 diabetics. It was inspired...

I still can't log in to the forum on my pc. I can sign in with a saved password to the rest of the site but when I go to the forum it signs me out and I have to resign in. Then it won't accept my password. All very strange. On the iPad I'm fine. @Administrator.
