    Even as a type 2 it is good to know your BG level before breakfast I'm a newbie to all this too, no such thing as a "stupid" question! Ask away all you want... you're sure to get a few replies and helpful advice :)

    Yes, I keep a food and BS diary, so I will add pain as a criteria too 1 - 10 scale of my pain thresholds, where 1 = coping ok to 10 = agony!!! and somewhere in between! It will be interesting to see over time the outcomes. I know we are all so different not just thru the diabetes but in pain...

    Morning! 7.6 at 7am not too bad, in 3rd week of low carb programme I was usually 11 mmol all thru July Diagnosed in March, and in shock! o_O

    New cravings after weeks of low carb

    Wow! Would you believe it!!? I was drinking diet lemonade by the bucket full! Always hungry too... only stopped it cos told no more sweeteners. Now I know why I craved sugar so much! Ta for the info :)

    Thanks for the link on metformin. More information than in the leaflet with the tablets. The diabetes nurse at my health centre checked that my other meds ok with metformin. She did mention that there are many other types of diabetes control medication to try. I have an appointment with her...

    I just did a BG test.... 9.6 mmol which is a bit disappointing as the previous 2 evening readings were 7.7 and 7.5 Must be the vegan ice"cream" ... I couldn't find a carb amount for it, but thought it would be ok as made with nuts. More research needed on that one!

    I'm also having acupuncture! 2nd session today. It is something I tried in the past, but not for diabetes then. Though this time was for fibromyalgia. The therapist was quite positive about treating diabetes too..... about balancing the whole body. It's relaxing anyway, if nothing else!
