"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

@DJC3 What you say is very true. If an apology had been given for the mistake I would have been unlikely to have taken it as far as I did. @Antje77 your vet seem far more proactive the way they have already offered to refund you and offered free advice etc. My dog is much improved but will never...

"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

@Antje77 I am so glad the cat survived. Was it the vet that gave the advice on the dose? I had a similar problem with one of my dogs. The vet gave a 2. 5 times overdose of ibuprofen which has caused severe kidney damage. They refuse to accept responsibility as I couldn't prove that the dogs...

Type 2s What motivates you to control by diet?

@zand I echo that sentiment! The look on the medics faces when you do the exact opposite of what they tell you and you are able to reverse a condition that is progressive and only alleviated by increasing drug therapies. When I informed the practice nurse what I was going to do I was told that I...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

@Riva_Roxaban petrol in the UK is sold by the litre so £1.32 was the price per litre. That was then where I live iit is now £1.45 per litre. (Wed) To keep on track with the thread I have just had my breakfast of a mug of decaf with a little cream.

    Coffee and blood glucose

I am a great coffee drinker and have always been so. I have not noticed any spike in BG but I have now been forced to drink decaf as I have found that caffeine causes me to suffer migraines. So I will continue with my coffee habit and not worry about this "scientific" study!

    Anti Sickness pill.

@SuNuman I do not have experience with anti sickness tablets but I do have experience with the side effects of Metformin. I struggled with them for about a month. I lost more time from work with the side effects in that month than the previous 20 +years of my working life. I gave up taking it...

Type 2 Low car-low calorie diet

I would echo what @bulkbiker says. I have lost about 5 stone with just low carb (keto under 30g carb per day). What is more I have kept it off for the first time ever. I did not feel hungry or deprived and therefore was not tempted to cheat. I also put my T2 into remission after less than 4 months

@DJC3 how is Denis doing? I have 2 scavengers and have been to the vet more than once after they have eaten something detrimental to dog health! It is an expensive over sight but in my opinion they are worth every penny!

One thing I find about diabetics in real life vs online

I wonder if part of the issue with people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes is that historically they tend to be in the older age range so their first instinct is not to Google anything it is to follow the advice given to them by their trusted family doctor. As time passes and those diagnose are...

    Carnivore Corner

@DJC3 it looks delicious. I am very envious of your access to such cuts. They don't do that in our local Morrisons and we do not have a butchers anywhere near.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you @Antje77 @MrsA2 and @shelley262. It sounds very useful but not sure If I can face even a mild celery taste. I may give it a go if I can psyche myself up to it.

Does Celleriac taste of celery? It smells a bit like it. I really hate celery so have avoided it like the plague

    Carnivore Corner

@Goonergal I am very jealous. I am having fish today as I am trying to clear the freezer of items nearing their use by date and it needed eating up. Not a fish fan at all unless it us battered and comes in paper with chips and gravy But once it is gone it is gone and I will not buy any more.

Anyone stop having migraines since going low carb/losing weight/controling sugar

I have had migraines for the last 45 or so years. I was suffering with them on about 15 or so days a month. I never experienced any aura with them but an intense headache. The day after was not unlike a severe hangover. I have only had one since I went keto 2 + years ago. I am not sure if keto...

    Covid vaccine

My parents both over 80 had their Pfizer vaccines (1st shot) 3 weeks ago and neither of them had any issues with it except for sore arms for a day or so. I am waiting for my turn when they get down to group 6.

    Abstenuary February, anyone?

I get the replacement issues and the wanting something to finish off a meal. I am really struggling mentally at the moment. I feel that I have "given up" so much to reverse my diabetes that I really can't bring myself to stop the cream. My weight is increasing but my BG readings are OK at the...

    dapagliflozin and it's side effects

Hi @manikp and welcome. I was on dapagliflozin for a while before I discovered this forum and went low carb. I have found that reduced carbs = lower BG numbers =lower Hba1c =less/no meds. My Hba1c has dropped from 97 to 34 and I am now off all meds. I found a BG meter was the best investment...
