    Let's have a grumble!

Or the look of pity! Oh poor you.

    Let's have a grumble!

Sometimes I just run out of steam with the 'no thanks' and end up eating stuff that I just don't want. Just for a bit of peace!

    Let's have a grumble!

Too true. Only those in the diabetic select group know what it's like.

    Let's have a grumble!

Let's have a grumble. I feel like a grumble. Don't you just hate it when people won't, or can't, take 'No, thanks' for an answer? I was at a coffee morning recently. I don't do this sort of thing much, for obvious reasons. There was coffee, which is good. I like coffee. There were also biscuits...

    Anyone using Fiasp yet?

Thanks everyone. I'll check those out.

    Anyone using Fiasp yet?

I'd be interested to know how you're getting on with this new insulin. I've asked two dsn's about it but neither of them knew anything! I'll have to wait until at least August when I'll see my diabetes consultant. I've been on Humalog for years and I'm doing ok but I like the sound of this...

Insulin pen and blood glucose monitor case

I carry my stuff in a make up bag and I have a Frio bag for going away. I really really don't like those imo cheap nylon wallets that always supplied with the kit. There's some snazzy pencil cases too. Amazon is a good place to look. 'Not on the high street' has a good choice of make up bags.

    50 Years Later ......

Here's the thing tho. Most people don't know much, if anything at all, about being diabetic. Why should they? Did you know what it all means before you were diagnosed? I certainly didn't.

How many hypos do you have a week?

All the different comments here just make me think we each need to do what suits us as individuals taking our lifestyles into account. I've worked really hard to get my hba1c to an acceptable level. An average of 6.3 sounds good to me, my GP and my consultant. I've had type 1 for 37 years and...

How many hypos do you have a week?

Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to reply. There are some interesting comments here. The first thing is maybe we are talking about different things when we refer to a hypo. I never 'crash' or need help to sort myself out. All that happens is I think 'maybe I need a bit of topping up' and...

How many hypos do you have a week?

I've just had a weird telephone conversation with a diabetes specialist nurse who contacted me at the request of the diabetes nurse at my local surgery. I'd asked her about the new fast acting insulin, Fiasp. Neither of them are specialists in type 1. Neither of them know about the new insulin...

Yum yum. I love a crumble too. Are you Type 1? Maybe this is a daft question, but how do you know how much to inject if you don't carb count?

    Quackery at it's worst.

I just quickly googled Dr Jaime Dy Liacco. He's an 82 year old from the Philippines who also claims to have a cure for cancer. Nuff said really.

I hope you don't mind me asking but how many carbs would you estimate for that?

    Dental Implants

Hi Juicyj. Thanks for replying. I've seen two implant specialists and chatted to my dentist. I've made up my mind to go for it. Basically I'm having two implants and a bridge fitted at the lower front of my mouth. I have a gap where I lost a tooth so consequently have needed a plate. But I...

    Dental Implants

I'm seriously considering having dental implants and wonder if there's anyone with Type 1 who has had experience of this. Did your diabetes impact in any way on the process? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Trip To South Africa

I've been type 1 for 36 years and have been using the Expert for the last 2. My HbA1c has come down dramatically. From numbers I'm embarrassed to mention to 45 and 46 (the last two). It's actually changed my life and I feel in control of it all, rather than it just being guesswork. (I use it in...
