What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.2 this morning, its almost like running later gives me a lower FBG. Early days yet but I feel some experimentation coming on.

I use these things , they come up slightly lower than the GP tests if done almost at same time. I found some on Amazon a while ago that worked out at about £10 a test. I put link on this site somewhere, I’ll see if I can find it later.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.8 at 0550. I tried the BG checks before and after a non fasted run yesterday (first time ever) 9.4 before 4.8 after, retested after just to be sure and within 0.1. Odd that it goes up when fasted and seemingly down a lot when not. More reading to do.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.9 this morning at 0820, and that is after Fish and Chips from the local chip shop yesterday evening. First time under 6 since 21 July, but we did have the wedding and then two weeks away in Tenerife in amongst all of that. Perhaps it’s luck, perhaps it’s because I am running more now the...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.3 at 0900. Went for a run, did 6k new PB for 5k 27:47, so happy boy. Further tested BG whilst still fasting immediately after run ,9.4 tested twice just in case.

Don't involve yourself in the blame game.

Your story is similar to mine history wise, I started running and up to now I’ve lost 4 stone since last August and I am just about to come off Metformin, all my HbA1c figures this year have been normal. I listened to an audiobook called “The Diabetes Code” by Dr Jason Fung, some of his...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

No they don’t, I thought they would when I first started , but they always seem to rise by about 1.2-1.3 after running. I always run having fasted overnight , I was 6.4 at 0300 , 6.9 at 0800 and 8.2 after 3.6k this morning as an example.

Could also be that the only response that seems available in the App is a Like rather than all the others.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.4 this morning, and after an indulgent afternoon in holiday 6.3 this evening. I can only assume the weight loss has made such a massive difference that my body is behaving virtually normally at the moment. I’ll be retesting over the next few hours to see.

6.4 at 0630. Diabetic nurse agrees I can stop the Metformin , after 9 months on it. More here https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/index.php?posts/2425762/

Got back to work amongst other things.

3 photos, the first two are exactly a year apart to the minute , 3 stone lighter and a body that is convinced that it’s no longer diabetic. 3rd photo shows the weight loss better after a run on the same morning. Diabetic nurse agrees and we are stopping the Metformin 9 months after I first...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning folks, 6.2 this morning for me, thanks for the kind comments above. No running today, but into the garage for some upper body strength training, some would say I’ve become addicted.

HbA1c now 41 after 3 months on reduced dose of Metformin and slightly less disciplined eating. Happy with that.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.2 this morning, but got married yesterday so was not exactly a good boy with respect to eating, I’ll take that FBG as a result. Back to running reasonably normally , did an acceptable 6k yesterday. HbA1c last week 41 , looks like I’ll be stopping the Metformin in the next two weeks. Happy...
