    Thank you Keto!

Well done Jennifer, you've done so well (as has your husband). You deserve to be very pleased with yourself! I've lost about 2 stone by eating low carb and don t get very hungry these days. I no longer 'need' something sweet. My HbA1c is down from 78 to 51 and needs to be lowered some more. I...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

AnnB, I hope your chest is improving. Take care. All that talk of haggis has made me hungry, it's been a while since I had some. Maybe a small amount would be ok.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks Ian, I'll get some for a special treat and make sure I only have a square. 90% snd 100% are bitter. I'm realising that letting dark chocolate melt in the mouth is the best way to eat it.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks Goonergal, that's really helpful. It is Montezumas. I also bought 100% from Hotel Chocolat which will need to be melted into something more pleasant if ever to be consumed. I like the idea of the dried strawberries. I especially like Green and Blacks 85% and M&S 85% is really good too...

    Hi- newly diagnosed T2

Hi Dubs, I was diagnosed after very blurred vision too. I thought that my vision would return as soon as I got some good number on my blood glucose monitor but it took a bit longer. The monitor is helpful as it enables you to identify foods that cause spikes (e.g. for me oats, lentils) and of...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Ziggy, this sounds delicious. I've been looking for high % cocoa dark chocolate with additional flavours, I wonder if there is such a thing. My lovely niece bought me a dark chocolate and almond bar that was 100% cocoa. It must be an acquired taste!

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I missed breakfast today but had homemade mushroom risotto for lunch with cauliflower instead of rice. I picked loads of wild mushrooms cooked them up with dried porcini and a splash of balsamic and have had them waiting in the freezer some time. I sweated some diced onion and celery and added...

    Tested positive for CV-19

It's a bit of a yoyo illness. Be kind to yourself and listen to your body. It is a worry isn't it, there has been so much in the press about those with long covid, even those who thought they'd had a mild illness. I barely thinking about it now which is a good sign. Take care x

Thanks Goonergal, all things considered I am pretty pleased. Covid was an unwelcome additional challenge. Stress levels have been high too. I'll be tested again in January and hopefully be safely in the range where the nurse doesn't talk about meds. Take care B x

    Tested positive for CV-19

Thanks Tugba, It was such a relief to put it behind us. I've been busy cleaning the house and am going to clean the oven next week so the fatigue is definitely improving (when kids back at school). The phased return is a good idea, that's what my sister did. Hoping you're feeling back to normal...

    Tested positive for CV-19

Hi Tugba, I am Type 2 and was ill with Covid for 4 weeks recently. All 6 in my household had it. My 12 year old was only unwell for 2 days, the 14 snd 17 year old were ill for 3 to 4 weeks. My sister and I were in bed for a few weeks and fortunately my husband was only in bed for 2 days...

I was diagnosed on 8 August, my HbA1c when first tested was 78 mmol/mol and my cholesterol was high 6.1 mmol/l. I was initially put on Metformin, after 6 days I felt so sick to be almost unable to eat so stopped the meds and managed with low carb diet alone. I was ill in September and into...

My son loved this book. I used to read with him a lot and really miss it. He's 12 now and has lost a bit of interest. I hope that Em likes it.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks ziggy_w, you are completely correct. I went through the bad stage and now feel well enough to resume some activities. I guess some people bounce back from this and otgers take a while to recover, I expect I will fall in between. Nevertheless m the relief to be past the wirst is...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

So sorry to hear this PenguinMum. Lots of people get a mild illness and I hope this applies to you. My heart goes out to you. I was thirsty all the time with covid and kept water to sip beside my bed. I also got chapped lips so would suggest lip balm nearby. I had cold and flu remedies at the...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thanks to all who wished me better and for the comfort food suggestions. I am recovering well now from Covid and got dressed and out for the first time in 4 weeks today. I drove my daughter to school and popped into the nearby Waitrose before coming home. Whilst in the checkout queue I realised...
