    Overnight Fears

I posted a msg on these forums years ago (under an old name too) regarding nighttime hypos. I too get a little worried, especially as my nighttime/morning hypos end up with me sleepwalking and being completely unaware of anything that's happening. As I inject levemir pretty much an hour before...

    Novorapid

Hey @No1DeadlyPoison I hope you got through the night ok! I use novorapid and levemir too and I find that the prefilled pens that I get straight from the pharmacist are really handy because they are bright orange for novorapid and green for levemir. I mean I've been close to injecting the...

NHS restricting machines to the cheapest strip machine

Hi guys, I've just had my first trip to the doctors since coming back to the UK (worked in Paris for a year) The first thing the doc did was to change me to a glucorx nexus meter. I have been using my accu-chek aviva for pretty much 10+ years and I think it's great. What is the consensus on...

Thanks @phdiabetic that's really helpful, I think the key issue is to test more! I've had T1 for 22 years now and over the last few years I've just got so used to knowing how much insulin works for me, that I don't test - this is a really lax attitude to have I know!

Thanks @phdiabetic does this mean I probably need to do slightly more novorapid per injection, so that my post-meal BG after 2 hours will be the same as it would be after 3 hrs?

Type 1 When should I test after meals?

Hi guys, I was always told to test roughly 3 hours after my meal, however recently I've read a lot of articles that say it should be tested much sooner, around 2 hours? what are all of your experiences? what is the gold standard of testing times? thanks in advance Edited to fit new topic.
