    Is it unreasonable?

Maybe i should give it a try next time, my gripe with receptionists when ringing for appointments is, is it urgent? or what's the problem? to which my answer tends to be, unless you're medically trained and are able to advise me, i fail to see the benefit in disclosing my medical worries to you!

    Is it unreasonable?

Hi Mr_Pot haven't tried making online appointment probably sounds silly but not sure i trust it, feel better talking to someone then i know for sure its been actioned, i just thought it wouldn't be as long waiting for Nurse as it would for GP.

    Is it unreasonable?

Thanks again PenguinMum, obviously right away on diagnosis sugar was off the shopping list, i used to enjoy hot sweet tea and would drink it by the bucket load, still cant face it without sugar so its replaced by coffee with creme but probably no more than four cups a day, no more spuds other...

    Is it unreasonable?

Hi PenguinMum, HBA1c on diagnosis in December was 62mmol and in may had gone down to 43mmol so was reasonably happy with it, think i'm going in the right direction.

    Is it unreasonable?

Thanks Freema, i just thought it would be more beneficial to me (ok i'm selfish, i can live with that lol) as recenty diagnosed to have the interim check, especially as they tend to advise diet control to start with, just to reasurre patients that what they are trying is doing well/good/ok/bad.

    Is it unreasonable?

Thought about that Chook but if i did, wouldn't be surprised if i was told i could always look elsewhere, and as registering with a GP seems to work on what Parish you come under in this area may not be adviseable.

    Is it unreasonable?

Thanks Jim, You're not wrong i have learnt far more here than i have from the people paid to inform me, and also get more answers to questions quicker here into the bargain! but to be fair to my GP i dont feel i'm singled out for suboptimal care anymore since being a T2 than i was before!

    Is it unreasonable?

Hello all, Since i have come accross this excellent website i have gathered loads of usefull hints and info, one of which was to register for online access to my medical records which i done at the start of this year so was able to add info to my profile such as HbA1c results etc. I was...

Congratulations Mike, well done, i did see a link to your story via a link from Diabetes.co.uk on a social media sie earlier. You shouldn't feel you shouldn't 'brag' about it as personally i feel reading stories of success like yours gives the rest of us hope that we can have similar success...

Blood sugars high and we still don’t know if it’s type 2 or 1

Unless the receptionist has some form of medical training (which i doubt) i think its quite wrong for them to determine how urgent it is it is that your Father is seen. It's a pet hate of mine that some Surgery Receceptionists seem to think they are qualified to make such decisions.
