    It's a heavy cross to bear. The trick is finding the most efficient way to carry it up the hill. This condition has undeniably left it's mark on me that's for sure.

    Morning 5.1 @ 22:45 > 5.5@ 02:00 > 8.7 @ 07.15 (+4u) now 9.8 (but i did have a white coffee). Waiting for 8 more units to kick in before i go for a nice breakfast of Greek yoghurt oats and blackberry puree.

    I would just run slightly on the high side, and if your blood sugar does dip lower than expected it wont take more then a few mouthfuls of something sweet to bring you back up, go for flat sweet squash. Nil by mouth is really about solids or excessive fluids little sips will be fine.

    Morning all. average night BG 8.3 at 5am corrected 3u > BG 5.0 @ 8.00am - had another 8 units @ and two slices of white toast and a small glass of OJ. My blood glucose monitor has me at a weekly average of 6.8 which i am very happy with (but a 30 day average of 8.1)

    edited to add throughout the day i like work within the cycles of my fast acting insulin. i allow five hours between injections, pre bolusing an hour before eating meals (in normal conditions) and checking BG 2 & 4 hours after meals. i take around 10 BG readings a day and up to 6 fast acting...

    @kelp84 one effective way to reduce your hba1c is to focus on the night time BG levels. You are asleep for on average 33% of the day. You're not eating (hopefully) during that time, so if you can get your blood glucose down to a normal level before bed and keep it there overnight you will...
