How do I apply??? Nothing in the link
Haven't been around for a couple of weeks, just catching up and saw this too. You can contact the research facility on 029 2074 825. They said they've had quite a lot of calls today because of the news item, but if you leave your details, someone should be in touch in a week or two. Seems as if they may still be looking for volunteers though they didn't actually say that.

Good evening everyone.
Firstly a thank you for all the replies, suggestions and advice regarding my new meter.
I’m fairly easy going so I’ll give it a fair trial. So used to the freestyle Optium I’ve been using for years and years.
I know what I like and I like what I know:):).
It’s all ying and yang, tic and toc like most things in life.
Lovely new bungalow.......not so lovely new meter. Far more important things in life to deal with.

Nice to see all my friends are still posting and making this the best thread/ place for all T1’s new and old.
I will try to get on more often, if only to annoy you lot:):):)

Fully booked this weekend coming though. Daughter bagged me first for some fencing work before the wife got a look in.

Take care all.

Somebody said something about Poland, I went twice, I had a great time wonderful people the Poles, the Brit's on the other hand especially the women is another story. The second time was interesting, they even stamped my passport on the way out.....

Clinic this morning was sort of good, sort of disappointing. My usual lovely consultant, who I’ve had for years, wasn’t there and it was the new person’s first day. Very nice chap, but he obviously hadn’t got up to date info (he was going on the letter/report from my last one in April) as he started off the congratulating me on how well I was doing on the Tresiba  So I got him up to speed, and mentioned a few other issues I’m having which could be endocrine related - we’re looking at thyroid problems, I spoke to my GP about it last week. Bloods for that on Friday morning via the GP, but the diabetes chap said to call Friday afternoon and he’d go through the results with me...

Bloods been happily SIG, clinic usually shoves them through the roof with stress!

Hey ho all.

Tomorrow go for 'yea old blood test', which should be interesting as this is 6 months into using Etch A Sketch :)

Seems the Mobile Ap works out your Hb1Ac for you, or rather has a random guess based on barometric pressure, if the day has an R in it and if you stir you coffee anti-clockwise but if it is in the right ball park then it may have dropped.

Guess it will be a couple of days before the results are in.

The estimate on mine was spot on. Fingers crossed!

Morning y'all, libre says 3.0 and a finger stick says 4, though I overslept I felt a little hypo, I've not quite got this Tresiba working properly yet I don't think :)

I've sat for 10 minutes working out my Tuesday only to realise it's Wednesday so I'm impressed with that :)

Happy Wednesday to you all, it has been raining quite a bit last night. They say Wednesday's child is full of woe........... my BS certainly is this morning 12.9  before bed 6.8, but I did make Sweet and sour Chicken for the first time in years last night, ooppps, the joys of diabetes
Wishing you a wicked Wednesday, take care :)

Got home at 6pm yesterday to a huge tea of roast potatoes and lamb chops.....
I had no plans as such the rest of the evening so took quite a lot of novorapid.
Next thing wifey shouts upstairs "tony the neighbours taking branches down"
I came down stairs at the speed of a deer and intercepted branches for my own ends.
I spent a good hour cutting and doing and making nice.
My chop saw then decided to give up the ghost so I spent some time trying to repair it.

In the meantime my levels were hovering around the 3s.
I was grazing on midget gems.
Gets to 10pm and I'm still struggling to get the levels up.
A chocolate bar and jelly babies later I went to bed convinced once all the carbs had reached target I would be high this morning...........6.1 at 5.30 am

Boring story I know but I ate so so many carbohydrates last night I really shouldn't be 6.1 this morning.......

But I am.

So a cack handed happy days for and from me.

Tony
