    Anyone craving a 'bread' texture?

These may fit the bill! With Almond flour coming in at 6g per 100 carbs, these muffins are only 1-2g of carb each! Lovely , warm from the oven with butter.

    Off the rails

You can give up smoking and you will. I smoked 20 a day for over 30 years, so I can totally understand your struggle. Both my husband and I smoked and we were in Dubai and bought silk cut /Marlboro cigarettes for £1 a packet in the (not duty free) shops. At the time they were £8 in the UK. So...

Could someone have a naturally higher blood sugar level?

Thanks. Yes, my blood sugars were shocking before. It wasn't that I was in denial as such, more that I told myself that it wasn't making me feel ill, and my eye X-rays were fine then I need ent worry. I'm just impatient at my bloods taking so long to go down. You mentioned the Atkins shakes...

Daily Mail Article - hidden sugar in drinks

They don't even taste that sweet (chai latte) no wonder I'm struggling to get my bg under 13. I had one a couple of weeks ago. It is probably still sitting on my liver. Any time I have had chai latte in Asia it has literally been a tea net (like a tea bag) infused into boiling milk. I have even...

Daily Mail Article - hidden sugar in drinks

Did anyone see the Daily Mail article on the sugar in drinks today? I have had a few Chai Lattes from Costa on my way to work, thinking - hot milk and tea - probably my best option. TWENTY TEASPOONS OF SUGAR? They don't even taste that sweet. The worst thing is, my sister lets her kids have the...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

After a long period of no control, I have taken stock, and I am eating 20-30g of carbs a day. Have been doing this for nearly a week. Cannot get my bg under 10. Will it take a long time for it to slowly climb down? Surely if I am having neg carbs, the level should be going down significantly? It...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Diagnosed 5 years ago. Gave up smoking after 30 years, but totally disregarded the fact I had T2. Have been taking metforminn all that time. My fasting glucose was around 18.5, post meal 2 HR was between 15-19. Have now taken stock and have been on the Atkins diet for 4-5 days. My blood g is...
