    I'm annoyed at another diabetic

These people won't listen, there's either a responsible diabetic who considers others or one who isn't responsible and doesn't care about others but themselves. I guess your colleague and mine only cares about themselves. I am glad we are all responsible on here though and helpful. I just...

    I'm annoyed at another diabetic

That's weird I've never heard of a needle cutter. Actually I always used to keep them in plastic bottles and hand them to the chemist until my friend recently told me I could obtain a sharps bin on prescription. I was annoyed the diabetic clinic didn't tell me actually but then they didn't...

    I need help losing weight

Thanks might do the low carb thing then. I've only just found out about ratios, counting carbs etc. so I now know I don't have to always eat loads of carbs. Going to give it a whirl and try rambling up hills etc. at weekends see how I go.

    I'm annoyed at another diabetic

Well this is it. He probably is risking the health and possibly life of others. I might ring up the cleaners and warn them because even if he didn't damage the health of someone else, it's the phychological stress and worry of possible implications if someone were to get stabbed by a needle...

    Worried about my foot!

I've considered acupuncture to release tension in my back and neck. It also increases energy flow which might in turn help my circulation and in turn then help my foot. Any suggestions as to if this is feasable? Ideas of costs etc.? Thanks, Rachael

    I'm annoyed at another diabetic

Basically he informed me that he dumps his needles in the bin at work or home and doesn't use a sharps bin. I think it's really irresponsible, and told him but he didn't listen. Is there anything I can do? Also can I ask does anyone else do this or not?

    I need help losing weight

Actually I didn't know it controlled the fat mechanism  Every day is a school day huh? :) I think although the carbs at night don't help me lose weight, Emma was referring to how to reduce the night hypos, which would stop me scoffing snacks in the night. It isn't a bad idea, and...

Hi the_anticarb and emma_jo. Thanks for your advice... I'm a type 1 however sometimes I just fancy a salad in the evenings especially in hot weather like today... I've also considered taking my night insulin in the morning. I meant to do it today actually but discovered I have taken an empty...

    I need help losing weight

It sounds easy but really at the moment I'm trying to lose weight and I can't. I can't get motivated because usually after work I'm too exhausted to do anything let alone exercise. I'm currently 5 foot 6 inches and 11 and a half stone. I used to be so slim but often I have to snack at night...

    Hyperbaric Oxygen

Hi yes I noticed it was a while back however I checked out the profile and it appears that Martin does stop by often so hopefully he'll read it or maybe he might have already looked into it and received treatment in the interim. Martin would be great if you could let me know? :-)

    Hyperbaric Oxygen

http://healthlink.mcw.edu/article/983208928.html The above link might help you decide. I know there is a hyperbaric chamber in IOM however sadly they aren't going to fund it anymore. It helped a lot of people recover from serious injuries, also it appears to cure tissue damage. It's worth...

    arthritis

My best friend has arthritus and as far as I understand it isn't in any way related to diabetes. Her mum had it though which made me think it was possibly hereditary but in your case it doesn't appear so. Hers is a rather severe case of arthritus and she is on chemo but she is finding certain...

Missing a meal by mistake - dangerous?

Sometimes if you delay your meal by a long time or miss it, there may be a chance your b/s could drop due to you not having food. However this varies from person to person. I think it would be dangerous to miss an injection if you had a lunch with a lot of carbs in as your b/s would possibly...

    Effects of stopping smoking??!!!

Hi andyfreud! Well firstly congratuations for managing to stop smoking. I personally don't smoke but I have constantly watched my brother, father and friends try to give up and fail many times. My mum used to smoke during pregnacy and when we were young but watched how it affected us when she...

Please sign by midnight tonight... obtaining insulin pumps

Hi Sam, thanks. Yes at the moment I've started the diary writing again, but really there isn't a pattern with regards to what I'm eating. For example I could work at 8grams per unit of insulin which is my tea time ratio and one day I could eat fish and chips (like the other day) and my sugar...

Please sign by midnight tonight... obtaining insulin pumps

Oh well I guess I just have to see. I saw the government response actually which was pretty lame. In the interim I've tried and qualify for, but failed to obtain the pump due to lack of funding. Not doing to well mentally or physically right now. I never sleep well, my sugars were above...
