    Most significant readings

I'm thinking about becoming a miser ! Seriously though, I've only been doing this for a month and most of my readings are within non diabetic readings except for my fasting reading which is stubbornly in the low 6's. I think I've got a grip on what foods and how much of it raises my glucose...

Thanks for the reply. So in my case, Prediabetic and no medication, if my reading after a meal hasn't exceeded 7.7, that should be acceptable ?

£17.99 for 100 strips from Amazon so I can't complain about the cost. But what you say makes sense to me. Thanks for the reply.

If you were limited to only 2 Blood Glucose Tests per day which tests would you make ? Fasting and last thing at night ? Before and after a main meal ?

    Erratic Blood Glucose Reading

Thanks for the response. I've eaten more or less the same stuff for lunch a few times previously without oddly high readings afterwards. I've calmed down a bit now so in future I'll take a second test immediately and then see what happens.

I've noted the usual variations like an increase after eating and sometimes a rise in Fasting Blood Glucose levels but today I got a reading that really confused me. Before eating my lunch of two hard...

    2 hours after meal ....?

Thanks for the replies, they've all been helpful. I suppose like most people this is a bit of a voyage of discovery for me. Looseboy sums it up though...Consistency ! Thanks again folks.

    2 hours after meal ....?

Thank you db89, I'll put that into practice right now. I've probably broken the rules of etiquette on this site by not introducing myself. I've only recently been notified that I am prediabetic and just last week I started monitoring my blood glucose level and joining this forum. Please have...

    2 hours after meal ....?

Sorry if I've missed some glaringly obvious answers, but could someone please explain to me when the 2 hours countdown starts ? Is it 2 hours after you start eating or is it two hours after taking your last bite ? And what about your glass of red wine after your meal ? Is it 2 hours after...
