    I will go back to basics using my current ratios ..think i may have just got a bit lazy with regards carb counting ..back to my DAFNE books double check everything and take it from there.

    ahhh i was always told to inject straight after eating as if i count the carbs on the plate and don't actually finish it all then i was in danger of having too much insulin. Think i need to do a basal test and rework my ratios. Get back to DAFNE basics. Good advice

    my diabetic nurse recently wrote me out a prescription for 2 x 50 strips and when i colllected it the chemist said they could only issue 1.

    hi i am a type 1 diabetic (dafne graduate) and am getting really stuck in a viscious circle. I eat, take a test and take insulin to suit what i have just eaten, as soon as the insulin starts to work i have an overwhelming urge to eat again, so i eat take insulin etc...etc.. now would'nt you...

    Yes the trigger was well before i was even diagnose after playing football and having that overwhelming urge to empty every cupboard in the kitchen, the insane sweats and shakes, now i realise even back then over 10years before diagnosis that i was diabetic.

    Yes i realise i need to speak to a doctor, but that is also a problem, it is over 16months since i spoke to any doctor / consultant they said i would receive an appointment and never sent one..best get my bum moving and get back to the doctors and demand an appointment.

    Hi i have a problem with being absolutely terrified of going hypo, i was diabetic for a long time before being diagnosed and the feeling of going hypo scares me to death, therefore i tend to run my diabetes at a high level..9 -10 and upwards....this has probably caused the weight to drop off...
