Newly diagnosed (T2D) and have to wait a long time to see a nurse. Anyone else had this and tips I'm not doing already?

Hey, thanks for the welcome. Very interesting and good for you. I hope my story can be anywhere near as successful as that in future. Yes I’ve seen the low carb cakes, looking forward to trying them out as I’m quite a keen cook. One thing there I’m definitely going to have to drop though...

Newly diagnosed (T2D) and have to wait a long time to see a nurse. Anyone else had this and tips I'm not doing already?

Thanks for that MrsA2, wow, I feel I have lots of attention from the medics now. I hope you do get one as - well checks for complications etc... but up to you of course. They diagnosed me via an HbA1c score, I'm thinking that won't drop within a month and it's more important to deal with it...

Newly diagnosed (T2D) and have to wait a long time to see a nurse. Anyone else had this and tips I'm not doing already?

Hi Folks, posted a few times already but instead of dissipating my story here it is in one place. Already learned a lot here and looking to learn a lot more. So... I'm kind of unsure if I'm actually T2 full blow yet. See the thread title. My HbA1c has been creeping up for years but no doctor...

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

This morning I did two readings as the 1st was a bit of shocker. 9.4 mM first reading, so did another one from a different finger - 7.8 mM. Then walked to work (about 100 min) after a breakfast of porridge in semi-skimmed milk. 2 hours after eating. 7.6 mM. This is only my second day of...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Thanks both! I shall keep those in mind. Initial testing is a little .... terrifying. 7.2 mmol/L before lunch. Still 9.7 mM 2 hours later. What did I have? 3 falafel balls, some mixed salad (cucumber, lettuce, a smallish tomato, couple of sticks of celery and about 4 olives. I did use a...

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Well you could critique the one I've already bought :nailbiting: Impetuous moi? There were only really two on the shelves I could see in the chemist I went to. True Metrix Air. I fancied the bluetooth capability, so naturally my phone won't detect it (yet) A kind offer though, thank you.

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Hi, well let's see what they tell me in July. Yes, I can see that the idea is to get a picture of what various foods do. I hope I don't have to give up basmati rice lol.

Have you been told not to test your blood sugars?

Well I for one have just found this an interesting thread. Just newly diagnosed with an HbA1c reading of 49 yesterday. I have to wait nearly a month even for my first appointment to see our practice nurse about it. Guess I'll be getting a testing kit from Boots this lunchtime then as this was...
