The first time I did my testing it hurt ALOT! The guy who set the finger pricker in the hospital was dark and he tested it on himself first then put a new needle in for me. As dark people have thicker skin than white people he had it set 2 levels higher than I needed :?

I carry a card in my wallet with my name on it and it says im "using insulin". As I don't allways carry my wallet I got a dog tag now saying "Insulin Dependent" 8)

I had a time where my readings went very low and my nurse said to me I may have to run my sugar level alittle higher for a while (im not sure how long for). This way when it goes low you will have the hypo signs again :)

Yes its fine. As im only 18 my mum was worried and asked my nurse and its fine. I only have 2 protein shakes a day with 2 scoops of powder in each. I try to get my protein from solid foods as much as possible. Does he have a strict diet? ( 6 / 7 meals a day)

Hello! Ive been a diabetic for 4 years and im currently on nova rapid and a 24hour jab using a solo star pen. Im also into weight lifting which I do regularly. (3 day split and 2x cardio a week). Hope everyone is well~

One hand full a day of almonds is fine. I do know Brazil nuts are very fatty though.

I swapped from Lantus to the solo star pens. I had to do this because my Lantus pen only went upto 44 and I need 46 now. I don't really notice a difference apart from the solo star mixure burns alittle towards the end of the jab :cry:

I do tend to drink alot of pepsi max which also has sweeteners. Where chocolate is concerned my nurse told me I may aswell have a small portion of real chocolate rather than have the diabetic chocolate :) I guess its not so bad being type 1 as you can just inject alittle more but as im into...

Yeah, Almonds are pretty good. I have them with a protein shake at 10:30pm :D
