    Check ups?

I would find another DR asap. You should be at least being monitored every couple of months at this point to find out if the metformin is working. I have never heard of a type 2 on medication that does not test so I would flag that for sure. Most GPs have a Dr that 'specialises in diabetes' ie...

    Insulin pen or syringe

You can get pens with needles barely double the size of the ones in your testing kit, which I assume you have. I wouldn't say it is painless as some said. You will still feel it but not much more than a finger prick. It just happens to be elsewhere.

Type 1 Struggling with my pre-bed target of 8.5

Your dinner is not out of your system, nor is your insulin, when you are going to bed. Novorapid will take at least 4 hours to go through your system. If you are going to bed feeling ok and waking up with a good level and carry on as normal. These are fantastic numbers for so early in your D...

If only I could work with my hands, hell yes. Just never one that works on the pitstop. Do NOT want the blame for a 9seconder!

Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

Pretty much got bullied onto DAFNE when I did not want to go. My HBA1C was perfect and I already knew how to carb count as I was lucky enough to be taught that upon diagnosis in 1997 but they would not leave me alone over it. I knew most of it and spent the time feeling guilty that someone who...

What pressure is being put on the government to ban sugar in non dessert products?

No. Plenty of things require sugar or benefit from them in the recipe. It is all about moderation.

    Your dream job?

I would love to be a lecturer at university specalising in mordern European history such as the inter-war years in Weimar Germany, Nazi Germany and life under communism. 2015/16 Football Season

Considering my captain Casillas has already left, I'd be a happy Madridista if the transfer window slammed shut right this instant. Tempted to hide Ramos in a supply closet until then. I miss the footie :( At least Wimbledon eased it a bit now the sports channels are not showing the wee...

Most recent Football transfers! Must read!

Still in shock my team (RealMadrid) managed to pay a sensible amount for a player. Normally we pay several times their worth just because.

Rising BG levels during sports (any help?)

You could try splitting your lantus so that can have more overnight without risking hypos later or take some as soon as you get up try and stop the dp in its tracks. Then you are not forced to feed your diabetes at any point. As for the sports my blood always rises when doing sports (or..ironing...
