Did I have hypo when asleep last night ?

I realise that. What I am trying to ask is is a night time hypo distinctive in its own rights and more importantly does your sympathetic response tell you something is wrong because if so I badly missed it.

Did I have hypo when asleep last night ?

Hi I went for my usual walk in the evening, had my dinner with NovoRapid, Had Lantus 18 units as normal @ 9.00pm. Blood glucose was 6.7mmol/l before bed @ 10.00pm. I woke up at 1.00am, pillow and head soaked in sweat, but no other symptoms. Is this a night time hypo ? I have so far not had one...

LCHF, T1 & joining the gym

I walk for an hour each day to manage my insulin dose. I have a banana before, and Test after. My DSN said I should Test during walking but I don't TBH. I Test after and if low I have an energy bar or banana depending on reading and reduce my evening meal insulin dose....

    Type 1: Holiday

First thing my DSN said was don't let diabetes ruin your holiday. She wrote a letter for Airport security so could carry Insulin and sharps into cabin (She is a true champion). Other than that...(Heat droppped my blood sugar, caught it at 4.3). Usual Type 1 blood checks and have a great holiday...,

Am I being unreasonable to cancel outpatient appointments ?

Thankyou for knocking some common sense into me. I'm going through the mill at the moment and I appreciate all comments despite my short fuse...I've lived with this terrible disease for 3 months now....nothing compared to you guys...It's hard to come to terms with as I have really never felt...

Am I being unreasonable to cancel outpatient appointments ?

When the Doctor at the MDU said it was "Life Changing" I had no idea what he meant. I do now....I have never been in denial...but the anger bit is settling in pretty nicely at the moment. I hate being on the NHS "radar" and would rather be the architect of my own fortune...I will cancel

Am I being unreasonable to cancel outpatient appointments ?

I would be grateful for any advice. I have been recently diagnosed with diabetes...(I don't question that). They suspect Type 1 but it isn't confirmed. Lately I have (in my opinion) been bombarded by the NHS with outpatient appointments. I currently have 5 set appointments within a 4 weeks...

Type 1: Exercise on low carb?

I walk for 1 hour in the evening....I reduced my NovoRapid before meals dose but eat a banana just before walking without insulin. It's seems to balance my glucose really well. I posted something similar last week...I think the lesson is trial and error. Every one is different..

    Type 2 re-think.

Your story is uncanny to mine @KezG and I don't know my number yet. I have got used to being accused of being type 1 like you, not sure if I will be relieved if that we're to change or not. But at least you can move on and get the correct treatment now.

Question about exercise and dropping Blood Glucose

After starting Insulin therapy I have gained some of the weight I lost and I am trying to stop the rot...more weight ...more Insulin so I'm told. leads onto more Insulin, bigger risk of hypos...had one, don't like it...at all. I'm a newbie:-) I discussed this with my DSN and She agreed...

    Newly diagnosed on 27th Oct

I would like to add something...It looks like (reading the thread) that I am laying blame on the DSN's at the hospital. Nothing could be further from the truth. They are truly amazing! They have been understanding, supportive and have gone out of their way to help me during a difficult time. Way...
