    Hartleys ready made Jelly

Totally agree with you Ken, if it stops be binging on chocolate etc (and there is high risk of that) then I don't mind a few cheeky additives etc. I had a look on a pot though and there isn't as much as I though there might be so all in all it's a winner in my eyes. just need to find the...

I have to back you up on this one. I feel the cold loads more than I used to. I have been hard core low carbing for the last 2 weeks and have felt chilly most of the time since then. I haven't lost any weight to feel a significant difference. I wonder if this is connected? Will need gloves at...

    all alone

It's ignorance in people that makes them think that they can tell us 'you can't have that' I cut them short and tell them unless they are clued up on this condition then they should keep their opinions to themselves. most of the people i love dont have a clue about diabetes and it does bother...

do i need a blood glucose test meter ?

I was mis diagnosed as a type 2 to begin with (i am actually type 1 on insulin) but even then the first thing i was given was a meter and told to test often. personally i don't think you can successfully take care of yourself without one. You should be able to get one for free from your...

If you are using a set no of units every meal then this will by why you are hypoing so much. Carb counting classes will definately be a good idea as hypo's aren't good. Do diet drinks affect your BG?

Might seem a silly question but speaking to someone the other day and they mentioned that diet drinks are bad because they fool your body into thinking it's getting something sweet so therefore raise you BG. personally i don't think it makes much difference to me but i wonder if anyone knows the...

to 'low carb' or not to low carb!

Hi Lahdida, im Certainly no expert on this as im still learning myself but i think the diet you have been recommended is far to high in carbs. The reason that the docs etc don't promote a low carb diet in the UK is that there hasn't been as much research done on it like there has been in...
