Cambridgeshire type 1 diabetic meet up groups

Yeah, its very odd, as I thought there would be one closer to Cambridge. I think your right, starting one off may be the best way to go. I think as diabetics (especially myself), it's hard to find people who understand and that you can meet close by.

    Pre proliferative retinopathy

Thank you Mark, that's really settling my worries. Last few days my highest reading has been 10, which I know isn't great, but I am getting it down slowly. I have heard about the low carb diet, and I am have started cutting out carbs.

Cambridgeshire type 1 diabetic meet up groups

Hello all, I am hoping to find a few groups in Cambridgeshire for meeting/chatting. I don't have anyone I know or talk to that is a type 1 diabetic (other tan this forum). I recently I realised it may be good to go along to a group meet (even if a walk outside within covid-19 guidelines). I know...

    Pre proliferative retinopathy

I am on insulin, I have the freestyle libre, but under a lot of stress so it has been more difficult to manage. I have seen another thread saying this can be reversed. I am going to be more careful, I am already adjusting insulin, but I have lumps all over my body. I have to inject an hour...

    Pre proliferative retinopathy

Hello everyone, I am 26 and I have been told I have pre proliferative retinopathy. I wondered if anyone could shed light on whether this is reversible? I have been diabetic for 20 years, and I have been finding controling bloods harder, but now I guess this shock has really kicked me up the...

My daughter wont take her insulin

Hello, I did the same when I was younger, I also noticed I lost a lot of weight then I did it for that purpose. I had an amazing doctor who took me back on the right track. In all honesty, the teenage years are the hardest but also the years you start to really understand implications (I took it...

Taking insluin in public places like restaurants

I used to be so embarrassed taking insulin in restaurants, so I would take it in toilets or wait (stupidly) until I got home and was sky high. Then I realised, there is no shame, I don't make a big fuss doing it, I do it through my clothes so no one is going to see anything major! I now do it at...

    Nearly finished myself off..

Have you done the Daphne course? It's really useful to help understand carb ratios and working to your own body and insulin resistance. Also I have accidentally swapped my slow acting with fast, but I have pens which retain how much insulin I have given so I don't forget or if I accidentally...

    Appointments during Covid-19

They are really busy, hence why my post wasn't a blaming post it was just some general questions. It is a very scary time for all, most importantantly doctors and nurses and other frontline key workers. I am going to ask if I can have bloods and eye test, but from what I have heard in another...

    Appointments during Covid-19

I have asked if they are doing bloods but the call centre don't know. I know some places are for very poorly people, but I haven't been given any information and when asked the call centre haven't been able to tell me. Hopefully with your news this means it can happen, but I will wait to hear at...

    Appointments during Covid-19

I have a few questions written down, so I won't take up too much time on the phone. But it is more the bloods and eye screening. So hopefully there may be a solution.
