Low Carb, high fat and no gallbladder?

@cosmic69 :) Hello. Something of a dilemma for you isn't it. I eat LCHF without my gallbladder. I had it removed in 1978, which was major abdo surgery in those days, not the micro used now. Apart from a few weeks immediately following surgery I have had no problem since with fat. I also suffered...

@Kat100 ....well your part of the world is pretty flat and if I stand on the highest sand dune....:smug: I do envy you living in Norfolk. One of my hobbies is bird watching and Norfolk has to be THE birders paradise! A few years ago I spent a week birding there with two friends...was amazing...

    What Pets Do You Have?

A Border Terrier named Rosie, who loves people but hates cats! There are several cats in our neighbourhood who I'm sure, taunt Rosie purposely by parading across the garden, pausing in front of the window while she leaps around trying to get at them through the glass. One day.....just one...

    Soup maker

I have a soup maker, the Cuisinart one and I love it!.....(probably because it doesn't involve lots of pots to wash afterwards) It sits on the worksurface and is used regularly. I can make enough soup for at least four or five decent bowlfuls. It's also useful for dips, dressings, drinks and...

    Statins

It varies. I was ok for about eighteen months then became very ill. Joint pains, severe nausea, exhaustion to the point where I couldn't function at all. I was put on a statin following two heart attacks, but to be candid I don't believe they ought to be prescribed to every diabetic per sae and...

    waterworks

@Dogbutler The menopause is blamed for just about everything in women over about 40! Similarly we diabetics tend to blame diabetes for lots of unconnected problems...perhaps you have a gynaecological problem, eg irritable bladder or an early prolapse which can present with the symptoms you...

    Milk

I also drink unsweetened almond milk but it doesn't taste the same as regular milk and doesn't really work in tea or coffee...it has to be cream in coffee ;)

    running out of insulin

@cmw328i but i was told i should be able to simply ask the pharmacist and get more without having a renewal script? Sorry, but you were misinformed there. Pharmacists can't dispense insulin without a script. Ring your surgery and ask for more. I too am on basal/bolus monthly script, but that...

What do you eat in between

Have you tried celeriac as a replacement for potatoes? It's very low carb, can be eaten as mash, makes a great topping for shepherds pie etc., can be chipped or roasted and it will certainly fill you up! I eat LCHF and don't get hungry at all, often only eating two meals a day with maybe a small...

Ideas please for a photoshoot next week that encapsulates the 'low carb' idea

The general idea put about seems to be that people doing Low Carb eat just meat, fish, eggs and cheese....as portrayed by that tv documentary about Lc v Hc.... so how about shopping for lots of fresh green vegetables and berries (maybe at a market stall) to add to the protein in your (wicker)...
