My kids brought me a lovely necklace for Mother's Day. I got brekkie in bed and taken out to lunch (very lucky, very spoilt, very grateful). So I wanted to wear a maxi dress which went with the necklace but the only shoes I had were platforms because of the length of the dress. It's a half hour walk into town and I wanted the exercise as I was going to indulge in a glass or 2 of wine which isn't a problem crept I've lost weight so the straps were a bit to big on the last hole. So I wore them any way and ended up with huge blisters. So then I bought some shoes to walk home in. They were high wedges in black leather. Beatiful and the straps went nowhere near the blisters. Only problem was that I could only take tiny steps. Much to husbands amusement as he couldn't believe I was blonde enough to buy them (I am blonde so I can say this!) . The walk was all up hill for 30 minutes except it took a lot longer. The balls of my feet are still burning 2 hours later but it was worth it. Am I the only one out there? Lol!

I have a pair of sandals that are absolutely impossible to walk in. We were going out one evening to a restaurant I hadn't been to before and I asked my partner how close to the place we could park. He asked why it mattered and I had to explain that I was trying to decide whether to wear the shoes I can't walk in or not. He was really astounded that anyone would wear shoes they can't walk in!

Got told 30 years ago That I must never have certain shoes, and never open toed sandals. Stuck by this and podiatilriastnon last visit commented how good my feet were for age and job etc.

Made me think
" YES", "brilliant.."

Only got 1 pair of large heels, never wotn...still in box 4 years (so far) later.

Well said that woman! I had a pair of outrageously high black satin stiletto sandals with red roses across the front bar. I used to refer to them as my "****" shoes. I wore them once because I managed to totter to the pub in them but nearly broke my neck so was reluctant to wear them again and ended up giving them away! :( A couple of months ago, I found a pair of black wedges which I had forgotten about for 8 years and wore them for work. As the day went on I noticed black stuff on the room of my floor. Then I noticed that I was getting shorter. The platform part was made with rubber and painted black. Unfortunately rubber is perishable so I was left with just the shoe part! :hilarious:

i have had problems with my feet all of my life. the only two pairs of shoes i can wear are combat boots and really big doc martins ....

not lady like but my feet look good ;)

I guess the female gene for obsession with shoes passed me by - I've never understood the desire to torture your feet for fashion. I can't remember the last time I wore shoes with heels. How any woman wears stilettos is an absolute mystery to me.

You, pose? Surely not Beach.

Merely adding sunshine to the beach on a cloudy day.

Silvio taught me every cheesy line in his book :D

I'm very pleased that the female shoe gene completely bypassed Mrs Bear! She detests going shopping for clothes or shoes.

Mrs Yorks settled on a drive over the moors, a comfortable pair of slippers, some knitting wool, some chocolates and a fish and chip lunch.

Can I get away with a full carbon bike as my reward?

I'm with you there! I live in trainers and can't bear to wear anything that isn't comfortable.

Got to say my favourite shoes are my skechers. They are so lightweight. I know they are effectively trainers, but being washable too are fantastic. I forget I have a pair of shoes on as they are so comfy and light.

I love shoes. I adore bright, shiny, or sparkly. But I can only wear "sensible" ones, and recently paid a small fortune to a private medical company for them to analyse my feet and my gait. they diagnosed me with a very long posh way of saying "no dainty shoes for you, lass".

My best heels now come to work with me. They are my sitting shoes, and get swapped for my boring slip ons if I have to walk. The beauty of this method is No blisters! Lol

I had a pair like that once too. My husband dropped me off outside the restaurant and went to park. I waited outside for him. He was only a couple of minutes but long enough for me to be rapidly approached by two 'working girls' who thought I was trying to muscle in on their patch.

I usually wear jeans and trainers now.

I love shoes I have sitting down shoes and hobble a few yards shoes but I do have some shoes that I can actually wear The problem I have is that I never seem to have the appropriate shoes for wherever I am going eg boots when too hot sandals when too cold !!! I have passed the gene onto my grand daughter who buys the highest heels you have ever seen in colours and patterns that are amazing :woot:
