    Fathead Pizza mmmm!

Wow the base is made of lots of cheese (and some other bits)?! Surely the only thing to improve pizza is to add more cheese! I love cheese btw ;)

GP has limited my Lantus to 1 Pen

Type 1 Silly question - sharps bins

Thanks Geoff. Trying to get hold of council to organise collection - think you have to ring at midnight on a night with a new moon on a day with no ‘y’ to get thru ;)

Type 1 Silly question - sharps bins

Apologies if this is a dumb question! I have a sharps bin I was given at discharge, and know I need to contact my council for disposal. Do they leave a new one? If not where do I get my next one from?! Thanks :)

Update - 1 month since diagnosis

I’ll pop it in my diary ;) I had both - I think it’s the flu jab that’s done me in tho. Think if I was at 100% I’d have handled it better but being newly diagnosed too think the body is still recouping ....

    Type 1 T1D

I was 36 when diagnosed. Like @Juicyj Mentioned i have spent the last 2mnths since diagnosis thinking it would go away or someone had got something wrong - esp as I’m overweight I feel like I ‘should’ be t2 if anything. But the insulin seems here to stay ;)

    Life insurance

I recently amended my life policy to remove someone. I told them I had just been diagnosed with t1 and it didn’t make any difference - they just noted it. As above not sure if this is because I’m newly diagnosed and still only in my 30s?

Update - 1 month since diagnosis

Update - 1 month since diagnosis

Great to hear you have such good support. Think I’m also very lucky here in West Yorkshire - have a hospital with a diabetes centre 15mins from my house and excellent nurse/dietician - and also spoke to the research nurses here who work on various trials/studies etc. Altho one of my gps saw me...

    Blurred vision

I had blurred vision and it took a few weeks to settle completely. I was told not to get an eye test til they’d settled as it would be essentially pointless. Appreciate its really annoying but think you’re best just waiting it out

    Sugar testing

I’m a t1 and I test around 6-8 times a day. Mentioned to gp nurse and she said that was too much - however as I’m newly diagnosed I feel the more info I have on how i respond to various meals etc the better. I figure it’s our own fingertips to its up to us ;)

    Best medicine?

Following as I’m also after some t1 friendly cures - just had the flu jab and feeling a bit sorry for myself @tiredoftrying2017 hope you feel better soon!

    Flu jab

Thanks @juciyj. I don’t think I miss counted my insulin but wouldn’t say for sure! And only been pottering around as normal, nothing excessive. Maybe I’m just having one of those days :)

    Flu jab

I had to make an appt, which was in a couple of weeks, however my gp dsn did it whilst I was with her this morning to save a trip. I’ve however just hypo’d after lunch and I’m not sure why, have people had instances where the jab has affected BG? (Sorry for random question I’m a newbie t1 so...

    Help! Butternut squash

Thanks guys. Had the frozen remains over two separate days without bolus and they spiked my BG a little so think I need to bolus a little - maybe I just ate too much in one to :)
