For the want of a cup of tea

Thanks all. So far today I've burnt my lip ("just the tiniest splash please") and purchased both a set of small bottles then a cute little vacuum flask. This diabetes lark is getting expensive.;)

For the want of a cup of tea

Thanks @HSSS I've purchased some 250ml empty bottles and a bottle brush and so begins the saga of me leaving smelly milk bottles all over the city. Option 3 would be ideal but I spent all last week with a bundle of green teabags that never made it out my handbag. Years ago I "trained" myself...

For the want of a cup of tea

I'm embracing and enjoying a low carb journey and find myself thinking about all the carbs I "waste" in the copious cups of tea with milk I drink across the day. At home I use unsweetened almond milk which is fine as I count it as about 0.5 for two cups. The problem is work. I have several...

    One off high reading query.

Thanks. I'm not even going to write it down and spoil my run.

    One off high reading query.

Sat down to my lunch today and the meter said 9.1. Its a bit random because I was high 6s low 7s all day yesterday. I haven't eaten anything since yesterday dinner and in three weeks low carb my readings are very rarerly over 8 (and that's early morning with the dawn phenom stuff) I started...

Numbers for the first fortnight. On the right track?

Hi @Emma Gill Not offended at all. The diary was from my very first week so I was determined to have three square meals and not be hungry in between.I think it was difficult to believe it would fill me up without a third of the plate being carbs ! If you look at the page with my numbers you'll...

I don't have any big ideas(yet) but I'm a planner and just wanted to say I thought this thread was a great idea. Thank you. I already know the low carb chocolate slab cake I bought and tried yesterday will feature heavily in my Christmas fayre

Numbers for the first fortnight. On the right track?

Hi @Emma Gill I'm happy to share if you don't mind my scribbles and abbreviations. Remember I'm brand new to this and still working things out and please forgive my terrible spelling and handwriting. There are also errors within this for example I was counting too high for the almond milk and...

Numbers for the first fortnight. On the right track?

These are my immediately before and two hours after numbers for the first two weeks low carb. Am I good to assume that because they rarely go up by more than 1 and often drop I'm on the right track even though some are higher than ideal?

Type 2 Is extending your fast upon waking a good idea if you experience dawn phenomenon?

At two weeks low carbs statements like the above and when @JoKalsbeek basically said "better out than in" last week help me as a newbie come to terms with high early morning numbers when there are mostly fives and sixes for the rest of the day. Over the last week I've enjoyed skipping meals. Its...
