    HumaPen Luxura HD

Hi, thanks for your response. I have found recently that the half unit can make all the difference. Good idea to phone pharmacies! Somebody must have a secret stash of them somewhere! As for pre-filled, I'd never considered it before, could they be recycled? Can I get away with being a "junior"...

    HumaPen Luxura HD

Hi all, I've been using a HumaPen Luxura HD for a long time for my Humalog 3ml cartridges, perfect for me as it has 0.5 unit delivery. I have just been told that Eli Lilly no longer supply this pen! If I want to replace it (keep as a spare, or replace when the one I'm using breaks) I'll have to...

    Type 2 Free style libre

My mistake, all the alarms suddenly appeared on the libre app, but I am using libre #1. A bit misleading, when you can set alarms which obviously won't work! Still completely happy with xdrip.

    Type 2 Free style libre

Hi, I'm type 1 and fortunate that I get libre on prescription. I have miao miao and use xdrip. I updated software on my phone yesterday and alarms suddenly appeared on libre app. I have only turned on the 'signal lost' alarm on libre, as I prefer the readings from xdrip (this is probably...

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hello, Calibration has been working well, allowing for the lag. This morning Xdrip has woken me at 0445 with a low, amazing! Well the cat thinks so, he can pester me for breakfast # 1! Which leads me to 'how do i learn about setting the alarms?' Alarms for Lows and highs have been sounding but I...

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hi, thanks for responses. I was being driven round the twist with the Tomato app. Uninstalled it on phone and watch and installed xdrip! What a difference, everything works great. Now just need to set up some alarms, any recommendations with the best times to do calibration finger prick tests...

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hi all, Am new to the freestyle libre and loving it, I've treated myself to a miaomiao and ticwatch. I've installed Tomato which seems to be fine on my phone, but the ticwatch hasn't updated the reading since initial set up. Any suggestions as to how to rectify this?

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hi, Yes I have noticed the discrepancy you mention. It's hard to NOT treat the sensor low reading, to get it out of the red!! An even 4.1 on sensor is around 5.1 on BG meter! Do I control my actual blood glucose or the sensor glucose? Regardless of that, it's pretty amazing being able to view...

    Covid and smoking

Hi, this also crossed my mind when watching someone vaping the other day in a huge billowing cloud. The majority of that exhaust has been in their lungs? So when I'm walking through the fumes I probably haven't got a mask on cos I'm outside, I must be breathing in their lung contents? And also...

    Just been prescribed statins

As my results were low, I may inquire if a reduction in the dose I am on would be a wise move.

    Just been prescribed statins

Hi, I'm on Simvastatin 40mg, one tablet at night. That I'm aware of I've had no side effects, I've been on them about 10 years. I was prescribed them when my cholesterol was creeping up. Looking at 2019 results everything is well in target now, so they must be doing their thing? Does a lower...

Hi, 22 years as type 1 and something has changed?

Hi, Many years ago I was told to improve my HBA1C as it was mid 50's , a couple of years ago told to loosen my grip on my HbA1c as it was nearer to early 40's. I guess I found it easier to take more insulin and run my b/s closer to 4 mmol/L. And this has probably been a huge part of my problem...

    Freestyle libre compatible phones

Hello, I'm a type 1 of 22 years and have recently returned to the care of diabetes team at the hospital. I'm currently on Humalog and Humulin I. My confidence in my control has recently taken a knock and I am very close to the wire with an HbA1c of 41. I am now on the waiting list for a...

Hi, 22 years as type 1 and something has changed?

So, I've had a meeting with the diabetes nurse at the hospital. (I had been previously under the care of my surgery nurse). The nurse was fantastic, she went through my blood glucose test results (upto 20x a day finger pricks), my current regime and generally reassured me. I am now on the list...

    New

Hi, I find that if my b/s is high in the morning insulin alone doesn't change it for me. I find that i need to take my correction dose, and then have a light breakfast with a dose for that meal.

    New to forum, quick question

Hi, I also used to smoke. Firstly I had to want to give up (you are there already). Secondly I had to replace my nicotine craving! There are loads of products out there. I eventually found a nicotine replacement therapy that worked for me (that was the lesser of two evils). But it wasn't easy...

Hi, 22 years as type 1 and something has changed?

Hi, thanks for your comment. On the phone I'm pretty sure the nurse suggested that Tresiba would be more suitable. I started on Insulatard, I guess during the honeymoon period. Then was put on Humalog and Humalin I, so quite a long time I've been on these. I try to inject humalog in the abdomen...
