1 year in, still overwhelmed scared and confused

You are not alone. I was just like you and yet was diagnosed right back in 2016. I gave up some carbs but nowhere near enough and my heart wasn't in it. Then I realised it was because I didn't understand it, or know what I was doing. It seems so daunting but try to read as much on the forum as...

Had my consult with Endo, he said I was not a diabetic & would issue a letter to that effect

I bet he won't forget you in a hurry! I wish I was as forthright :)

    Fatty liver

Hi, do you do any fasting, or could you maybe lower the usual amount of carbs to see if your numbers improve just a tad? Just having a very late breakfast can help I found x

    Excited

My favourite 'comfort' meal has always been creamy mashed potato with lots of cheese added, which I sorely missed. But I tried a recipe I found online, substituting Cauliflower in place of the potato. I very reservedly had a go at making it and was extremely surprised to find that it tasted...

    It can be done

That's an amazing drop and it's good of you to share this with us, to hopefully encourage people with lowering carbs. Also we really need to understand what we are doing, which was my big downfall from diagnosis in 2016. It's mostly the good friendly informative people on this great site that...

Sugar spike drives up blood pressure?

Hi NicoleC1971. So is high blood pressure caused by too much water being retained in the body? My systolic is high (144) but it's something I have yet to learn about. Thank you

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Surprised to find that I'm 137 pounds on my new scales this morning! I thought that I'd overeaten as I tried Cauliflower Mash yesterday and could only manage half as I was so full. By the way if you've never made this then you are missing a treat!

    First Review in three years

I forgot to take my BP today! I'm meant to do it at the same time each day so I'm stressed that I didn't remember :(

    First Review in three years

I'm not sure if there is a real comprehension of BP by anyone, but it's something they always seem keen to rectify? I expect the DN will have me in for a 'talk' on pills for it next!

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I've not weighed myself since my diabetic review two days ago but their scales said 62 point 'something' kilo's .. which she WAS going to convert for me but forgot. I tried to work it out via google but I don't know what the 'something' bit was :(
