Had my consult with Endo, he said I was not a diabetic & would issue a letter to that effect

Wow, what an amazing day you've had! Would SO loved to have been a fly on the wall :D

Dandelade I never gave that a thought! I had not even had a drink, let alone anything else when I went for my review! Today my lower number was on 80 but the higher number still 144 so above normal? It's only my second day of self-testing though

    Fasting blood sugar....pre-diabetes

Hi Madisons! I think your first step is assessing your diet. When you say Fruits, what fruits do you have? Your GP is right to suggest limiting carbs, although it depends how much he means by that as most GP's seem to suggest eating more than is suitable for us to cope with. You will get plenty...

Thank you and kind of interesting

Pinkfoot I wasn't looking forward to mine today, strangely enough! I think it was that I was afraid that I'd set my expectations too high and was heading for an almighty crash. I've been so relieved and also so pleased that I just went for it :)

Wow you did great Jayne! I think it's more about keeping away from all the carbs that keeps us symptom free rather than the weight? Maybe someone else on here can elaborate further???

I hope that all goes well for you richf, and do post results on here won't you? I've taken my first 'at home' reading and did it twice. Both times it was 142 over 83 so at least it's come down a bit from the DN's one!

Thank you so much ... I'm buzzing right now, and yet still feel protective of my new way of eating if that makes sense!

Thank you Dandelade. It's only just sinking in and I am thrilled at how attainable it was thanks to low carbs with some intermittent fasts thrown in. It's a wonderful yet unrealistic feeling right now xx

Thank you so much for all the information Ryhia, and I like the idea of taking bp three times to get an average. Argos online are bringing a monitor this afternoon so I can then begin testing :)

HurricaneHippo is SO right! I am the very last person who thought would adapt to a very low carbs diet as my life was stuffed with sweet things, chocolate bars, ice-cream, cakes every day almost too! Believe me I truly don't miss any of it. I changed my diet all at one go ... no mucking around...

Thank you . It wouldn't surprise me as it was always elevated a little at my former GP surgery to be fair.

Thank you ziggy and even 10 points is good! I am wondering if I should try garlic pills? I'm sure I read somewhere that garlic does help and there's none in my usual diet
