Type 2 Three day water fast ... a question for all who do or have done this please.

Hi @Lamont D ... the one thing I did notice yesterday morning (day two) was how light and 'free' I felt while out walking! Hard to expain what I mean really but maybe you know the feeling? I sort of felt as if I could almost fly if I wished to! xx

Type 2 Three day water fast ... a question for all who do or have done this please.

Thank you so much, and I am pleased with how well it all went. It was far easier than I expected taking into account that I've been quite 'lost' with my eating habits recently xx

Type 2 Three day water fast ... a question for all who do or have done this please.

I didn't know that @Resurgam and YES ... it was my way of trying to get into ketosis following a dreadful five months. I've just eaten my first meal after 72 hours fasting and just had an omelette stuffed with red onion, mushrooms, mixed peppers and a sliced tomato, so hope that wasn't overdoing...

Type 2 Three day water fast ... a question for all who do or have done this please.

Today is day three of my fast. On day one I drank water, a cup of green tea, and a little Bone Broth. Yesterday I had similar but at midday I had a cup of coffee, made with double cream instead of adding milk, and with a knob of butter added to it. Now I am uncertain if this was okay to do since...

    Hair loss for a woman

Absolutely it has! I had fine hair anyway but within a couple of months of changing my eating I noticed far too much hair coming out whenever I washed it. I stopped washing it so often and also stopped using the hairdryer after every wash and now it seems to be improving! I actually thought it...

    Pas out or fall asleep?

Thank you @MrsA2 for your thoughts. My body is certainly not happy now with foods I used to eat three years back and of course I also do regular fasts of between 18 to 20 hours as well as recently doing a three and a half day fast with relative ease! xx

    Pas out or fall asleep?

Thank you @Lamont D I am 99 per cent convinced that I did faint while fighting off that awful feeling of dizziness. I think now on reflection that I felt far too unwell to just fall asleep. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before. My body really disliked my choices and amounts of Party...

    Pas out or fall asleep?

Yes @JoKalsbeek I am never faint or nauseous so that's a clue to the 'long-time avoided' foods, but it was the bathroom episode that puzzled me. I suppose I'll never really know if it was connected or not in some way. My blood glucose has never in my life gone above 11 so I'm lucky in that...

    Pas out or fall asleep?

Yes of course you are right about offering up advice. I suppose I just thought it may have happened to someone else in similar circumstances. I am fasting until at least mid afternoon today and indeed will test more often. Thanks for your thoughts xx

    Pas out or fall asleep?

Hi everyone. As some will know, yesterday I went off the wagon to share a special tea out with my daughter for my birthday. I've been in none diabetic numbers for almost three years so it was a big decision. My daughter has Asperger's and has no friends/social life etc and had asked this of me...

I find that I can eat butter, cheese, double cream, cream cheeses ect as much as I wish to because I don't need to lose weight (in fact they all helped me to lose the 18lbs I needed to) but you have to find what fits for you. Bacon and eggs is a FAB breakfast with no carbs, so no insulin spike...

Hi @Nixterjoe That was exactly 'me' at the start of this journey! The first reading of the day is more often than not high (ish) so it would be helpful to check just prior to eating and then two hours later. It's perhaps too early to give advice if you've not been diagnosed or know which tyoe...

    Useless doc.

Am I wrong here? I always thought that if you are taking insulin then it's not possible to lose weight?

Will Birthday treats ruin my strong resolve?

I'm so sorry @Lamont D .. I seemingly missed your reply yesterday. I had already decided that the best thing for me on Monday morning will be a water fast haha! I actually love fasting and don't usually feel hungry but I know I'll have to expect it this time with consuming all the carbs! Thank...

Will Birthday treats ruin my strong resolve?

@Mallyman Wow you are an inspiration! Thank you for telling some of your story. I love hearing how people cope and change their circumstances through willpower. Good luck to you on your journey through health issues, although somehow I really don't think you need it! :) xx

Will Birthday treats ruin my strong resolve?

@Outlier many thanks for your thoughts. My daughter wants me to eat whatever she eats, and whatever she has chosen for us. This is because we never eat the same meals as a rule, so she hopes to make it feel something unique and special to her too. She has had food issues for her whole life and...
