    Covid jab

I had my AstraZeneca yesterday morning and suffered full on side effects yesterday evening and overnight (headaches, chills, aches, pains, loss of appetite) things are getting progressively better today. Astonishingly I had my best FBG in a long while this morning. I'm also happy to note I have...

NHS Shake and Soup Meal Plan Trials

It seems to me that this 8-week very low calorie soup and shake diet is just a development of the Newcastle diet which was developed at Newcastle university some 8 years ago and has been reported on in the media periodically ever since. I think there was an NHS funded research project on this...

Advice from British Nutrition Foundation :-(

This is what we (and Boris) are up against ... "People with diabetes should try to maintain a healthy weight and eat a diet that is low in fat (particularly saturates) and salt but contains plenty of fruit and vegetables (at least five portions a day) and starchy carbohydrate foods such as...

Fasted exercise during lockdown - result!

Neither is new. Its the combination on a regular basis. I've always done a lot of exercise (but not first thing in the morning) and I often have either a delayed breakfast or even a weekly 24 hour fast. However, exercising early morning before breakfast day after day is new. hth

    Fasted exercise success?

I've usually mixed a bit of fasted exercise into my week, but usually just once or maybe twice a week, often as part of a 24 hour fast. Lockdown changed all this. As we were initially allowed out for exercise once per day avoiding others, I started going for fasted jogs at 8am, every day. So...

Fasted exercise during lockdown - result!

I've often mixed a bit of fasted exercise into my week, but as i'm a bit creaky most mornings i have just limited it to Saturday morning's 5km parkrun. Lockdown changed all this. As we were initially allowed out for exercise once per day avoiding others, I (accompanied by the other half)...

    LCHF Diet and Cholesterol

Absolutely my experience too. I eat loads of fats and my HDL and TriG are great. . If I let my carbs creep up then the chol & triglyceride numbers start to worsen. Carbs are definitely the problem not the fats.
