Sounds like that wasn't a good breakfast for you, but depends on what your number was beforehand. was it carb heavy? Toast, Cereal, that sort of thing? Eggs is a good option for me, an omelette made with spinach for example. Exercise helps to use up the excess sugar and larger muscles can store...

I think shift work definitely has an effect. My advice would be to get a meter and test. Something like a TEE2 if you want cheap and cheerful or a Libre if the cost is not a problem and you want in depth analysis. The Libre might be a good option for a short time to find out what foods effect...

    LCHF isn't working.

I’m not surprised. This isn’t LCHF. It’s too many carbs to become fat adapted so to say it doesn’t work when your not actually doing it isn’t really fair.

    Hba1c results

If it was me I’d cut out all carbs as best as I could for the next 2 weeks. If your first test was pre-diabetic levels (between 42 and 48) then it may be possible to get that below 42 in 2 weeks. I dropped 6 points in a week of eating chicken and broccoli or cabbage for dinner, coffee and cream...

Type 2 Waking up to High Levels

I'd try a no carb day. Eggs for breakfast, cheese for lunch, fish for dinner, something like that. Test before and 2 hours after each meal and see what that does.

Reeses peanut butter cup low carb or not

A spoonful of peanut butter would be my alternative. Is one jellybean low carb, how about 2. I eat poppadoms which are 40% carbs but only about 3 carbs each. Quavers 60% about 10 carbs a standard size bag, I don't eat these. A low carb diet could be 10 bags of quavers a day, but not all carbs...

Tastes like coors, in other words quite lite/water. Marstons resolution has more taste to it if that's what you want.

Is it possible to have type 2 diabetes but gain weight?

I'd look at increasing calories from fats and protein whilst lifting weights to increase muscle. Heavy weights and compound exercises like squats, dead-lifts, presses, rows etc, the exercises that you can lift the most weight.

    Am I Pre-Diabetic Now?

48 is the cut off point for full blown diabetes so a 49 and a 47 means you were right on the limit. I say were as the weight loss and new diet should be sending you in the right direction, I'd be amassed if it hasn't gone down. Well done with the new lifestyle.

    Weight.

We all have limited motivation which shouldn't be used up with diet and exercise. Plan your weeks food ahead and have a shopping list for what you need. If your going out for food try to choose it in advance. Treat exercise like any other appointment. Set a time and a place and just try to do it...
