    Some Advice required

So im still fairly new to all of this - Diagnosed at the back end of june with a HBA1C of 114/125 (either side of a weekend) Background. Exercise and diet have got me down to a healthier 45 after about 3.5 months and a massive reduction in finger prick readings from high teens to the 5-7...

BG not falling during 48Hr fast

Paul - i reckon you are on the money - liver feels i am going to starve (not much chance) and is dumping as much glucose as possible - however i do think that in the absence of food this glucose has got to come from visceral fat stores - maybe a higher BG reading is therefore not a bad thing :)

    Type 2 Blood Readings

Welcome to the forums and nice to meet you. The general advice would be to test first thing in the morning before you eat - Fasting glucose levels - but be warned this can appear quite high due to the 'Dawn bump' - Liver releasing glucose to 'get you going' first thing. Testing around meals...

So i was diagnosed as diabetic back at the end of June (28th) - usual symptoms - getting up in the middle of the night, sugar cravings and crashes etc. Bought myself a finger prick test kit and had a reading of 19.4. 2 days later my HBA1c was an interesting 125 and then 114 (test either side of...

    how long until remission

I agree with everything said above - and like you started off trying to set 'hard timelines' - i.e. by this number of weeks i will have achieved this or that. Remission in the NHS is broadly defined as an HbA1C below 48mmol/mol on two separate tests at least 6 months apart - without medication...
