What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

13.9... oh dear. That's from eating pork pies, crisps and chocolate cream eclairs while watching the rugby final last night. It was worth it though - well done England :D Lots of walking today to make up.

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

96.7kg - so dropping around 1kg a month at the moment. I'm a third of the way there to losing a third of my weight. Start was 108kg, target is 75kg. Back in my competition ballroom dancing/mountain biking days I was 68-72kg...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.6 this morning - perfect. Being on the maximum dose of Gliclazide I need to be above 6 and below 9. And of course, it's 'five to drive'.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

A remarkably low 8.6 this morning considering the McDonalds/chocolate/crisps/fruit cake/buns binge I had yesterday. When I get stressed I stuff myself... Still within my plan target of 6-9 though :p

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.3 this morning and 6.0 before dinner. So, still coming down. I have brisk ten minute walks after breakfast, lunch and dinner (when I'm not out doing long walks). Today I did 15 minutes on the exercise bike after lunch instead of the walk.

    Dextro Energy Tablets

I have the Dextro Energy Tropical Flavour. I think they're tasty. I got a big box of them off Amazon.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.7 this morning. Finally coming back down after a couple of bad weeks. Better just now - 6.3 with a little exercise and no Gliclazide...

    Dextro Energy Tablets

I carry Dextro tablets but I'm on Gliclazide. If my blood sugar drops below 5 I'm in danger - hypos can come on really fast. Metformin doesn't work in the same way and so is safer. Sadly I'm allergic to metformin

    Diets

If you are under proper diabetes care then you can ask to see a dietician. You'll get much better advice than reading opinions on the internet! All diets need to be properly balanced.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.0 this morning. After a strange high of 9.6 yesterday before evening meal.

    Chocolate

I don't have it often these days. But when I do, I find it doesn't affect my readings at all.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.9 this morning. I'm supposed to keep it 6-9 so it's ok. Would like it lower though.

    Further Problems with my Feet

I have neuropathy in both feet. Numb and tingly like I'm wearing ten pairs of socks. My blood flow is excellent so there's not a problem other than the discomfort. I have my feet checked regularly just to make sure I'm ok. I also watch for injuries as they could turn serious. At the moment my...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Who knows. 'Lo' at 9:24, 1.3 at 9:25, 14.6 at 9:41 (after toast and marmalade). Either I'm broken or my BGM is broken...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yesterday I had my somewhat uninspiring but tasty (to me) fish fingers (8 - done in air fryer) and peas.

    Dapagliflozin newbie

I can't have anything ending in flozin. I get severe thrush, like, too painful to wee severe. I'm also allergic to Metformin. I'm stuck with Linagliptin and Gliclazide  It does seem to work well for others though. It's just me being weird...

Type 2 Can I trust my Tee2 BGM?

So, last night I couldn't sleep. At 3 am I decided I wasn't going to sleep so I got up and decided to have some chicken soup. I do get sleepless nights from time to time and that's my go to. I tested before the soup, 7.8, and decide to test every hour just to see how my BS comes down after...
