    Put on statins, have questions

    I was put on a low dose statin last year cholesterol as it should be. When I asked why I was told it was a preventative measure. Type 1 for 48 years. Prevent rather than cure.

    I have had Type 1 for 48 years since 1 was 6. I also suffer with clinical depression which is not very nice. I take insulin 4 times a day and 4 anti depressents daily. You need to talk to someone, it definitely helps.

    Just had my diagnosis changed..

    I see Diabetic Consultant and GP annually. But I have Consultants phone number where I can phone if I need to. After 48 years there is not much Doctors can advise me on in fact I can advise them. That's why I prefer Hospital check up. Diabetic Consultant has looked after me for 30 + years.
