Omnipod Dash & Hot Sunny Weather

Hi, since starting my pump management just over 3 months ago today was my first day of enjoying sitting in my garden, enjoying the sun. (Live in West of Scotland!) When using lantus & novorapid via pen the sun didn't really have any extreme affect on my BG readings but today has been surreal. I...

    Type 1'stars R Us

Good Morning everyone. I wanted to share some good news. My hubbie & I treated ourselves yesterday to a trip to Six By Nico in Glasgow for lunch yesterday. I was really worried about even trying to begin to guestimate the carb content of such a meal. I contacted the restaurant and they gave me...

    Omnipod, suspend insulin.

Hi, You probably know the answer to your question now but just in case you don't. I set temp basal 1 hour before, during & 1 hour after my long walks. I know we are all different in how much insulin we need, a 50% reduction works well for me on a 2 hour walk. 2 hour walk = 4 hours reduction

    Omnipod DASH hell..

Hi Jessica, I was quite relieved when I just read your post. I am a newbie to pumps & have had a few pod failures with the omnipod dash. The latest was my own fault, I wore tight trousers & it was on my thigh. Cannula kinked, a lesson learned. It was reassuring to read I am not alone. Have you...

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Thank you for all your support. I have my 3 month review on Monday via video. It will be interesting to see how the other newbie pump users have got on. I'll let you know x

    Diasend Equivalents/Alternatives?

I believe if you scan using your phone it is automatically available due to 'the cloud' but not if you use the libre handset.

    Diabetic restaurant food

I would love, love, love to see carbohydrate content of each meal. I realise portion sizing could differ slightly but it would be a great start

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Thank you for feeding back. It seemed to resolve itself for a few days & then a massive high last night. I had the pod on my thigh & felt it pulling against my jeans earlier in the day. When I changed pod there was a kink in it. I followed guidelines & took manual correction with pen & changed...

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Thank you, I really appreciate all the help. Trial & error but I'll get there eventually ( I hope!)

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Hiya, libre sensor 2 but double checked with manual blood pricking test. I live in west of scotland & would love for it to be hot enough to affect my insulin levels, lol.

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Hi, I think your suggestion sounds like a good plan. I'll just have a salad for dinner tomorrow, I know it wont be carb free but a minimal amount & see how it goes. Only changed my bolus from 1:10 to 1:8 but too much. I've put my bolus teatime back to 1:10. I'll see what results are with minimal...

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Thanks a million. The increase to basal hasn't worked, I've had 2 low BG's since 6pm tonight. It is very frustrating. Look forward to hearing from you after your clinic appt. X

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

Hi, I did change pod (too many times) as correction also didn't work. The last replacement pod (yesterday evening) I put in my upper arm for the first time, previously tummy & lower back. I'm hoping this also might help. Thanks for replying xx

    Omnipod dash unexplained high BG

I have using omnipod dash for just under 3 months. As everyone knows lots of hard work & adjustments to date. Something strange has occurred over the last 3 evenings that my BG has suddenly risen within 2 hours of eating dinner. Prior to this was sitting at a comfortable 7.5ish but last 4...

    Future of Insulin?

I use the omnipod dash. First time pump user, 2.5 months in & wouldn't want to part with it. Hardly notice it anymore

Omnipod Dash & Reducing post meal spikes

Just wanted to share some positive news. I seem to have cracked my basal dosages & can say I love, love, love my pump. Staying steady 6'ish all through the night is amazing, sleeping with confidence now. I upped my basal 12-1.30pm which stopped the lunchtime food spike. Happy days!

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

I thought it was fantastically written & thought oh my god I could have written this! I'm on omnipod dash pump now for 2 months & overall doing ok but still not perfect. I am hoping one final tweak with a bolus rate after adjusting my teatime ratio last night could be it. I may a achieve a whole...

Omnipod Dash & Reducing post meal spikes

Thanks Chas, I know its very difficult. I had a boiled egg with some grilled bacon today for lunch. Tiny amount of carb in bacon, level stayed steady. I'm getting there slowly but surely. Already wouldn't want to part with the pump. Thanks again.

Omnipod Dash & Reducing post meal spikes

Thanks Juicy J My carb to insulin ration seems correct as it returns to decent level by four hours after eating lunch. I had an early lunch 2 hours ago and I have just returned from a 20 minute gentle walk. Two hours after eating lunch I would normally see a spike of 12. Just checked and its...
