    Worried

You say your fasting was 6.7 there isn't a set guide for fasting in non diabetics but if you use the pre meal of 4-5.9mmol meters are allowed to be up to 15% error margin so you take 15% of 5.9 that gives an "allowance" so to speak of 0.8-0.9mmol which would take in your 6.7 reading so I...

Delayed NovoRapid - Diagnosed 1 month Ago

As EllieM has suggested but its also possible that your basal needs or bolus ratios are changing so if a change of cartridge doesn't work first place to look at is basal, your bolus and corrections wont work if your basal is off so its really important to get that as precise as possible, then...

    Diagnosed 6 weeks ago

What tests were performed to determine what Type you are? I'm assuming they have said its Type 2 because of the medication they have put you on Type 2 doesn't generally lead to weight loss and that is a high hba1c, if they didn't do a GAD and C-peptide test I would encourage asking for those A...

    One HbA1C per year?

I've had twice this year, one in January when I attended a DSN appointment (fortunately they have a machine that can do it with a sample via finger prick rather than the full works) and then again in May with the full works when I had my review with my consultant They did test me very...

    Basal Test

Good luck! Even when you control it better (which obviously I don't know your situation so I cant say your not doing that now, I'm just going from what you've said) there will always be days chucked in with no idea what's going on or why lol, the joys haha xx

    Basal Test

Are you a member of the Type 1 Diabetes UK group on Facebook? If not it might be worth joining as they have files including basal testing etc It's basically that you don't eat carbs or inject fast acting insulin for different 4 hour time blocks throughout the days so obviously it is a long...

    conflicting advice

You may want to change what Type you are on your profile as it's stating you are Type 1 I'd go low carb in your situation as carbs are what diabetics cant tolerate very well, healthy fats and exercise will help with weight loss xx

    Eye test

If it were me I'd go and get it checked out at the opticians, I wouldn't accept new glasses but as someone who was diagnosed with eye problems less than a month after my Type 1 diagnosis if I'd listened to the advice everyone seems to give and not gone I would've been in more trouble as I needed...

Type 1 What’s your time in target on your Libre?

My app target is set at 3.9-9, the last 7 days shows 83% in target and 17% in 9.1-13.3 range, 90 days shows 83% in target, 16% in 9.1-13.3 range and 1% below 3.9 xx

HB1AC changed again in 12 days

Did you have any other tests done at the same time? Illness, medication, stress, pretty much anything really can effect your blood glucose in day to day life but anaemia can skew results of a hba1c apparently xx

    Insulin out of the fridge

if it isn't as effective as it usually is then it may be compromised but that's the only way you'll know xx

Using out of date test strips, NOT good :-(

You mean a 1mmol difference from the strips? You do realise that can happen with 2 strips from the same tub from exactly the same drop of blood right? They aren't 100% accurate and have a certain margin of error that is expected so it could be nothing to do with the fact the test strip was past...

    Question for Tresiba users

not quite sure what you mean? do you mean you want the ability to dose in half unit increments rather than full unit increments? if so ask your team for a Novopen Echo as that has the capability of half units, that's if your on cartridges though, if your on pre filled pens then you'll also need...

    Old novopen3

Have you had a look or asked your team about an I-port? I think its similar to the Libre in that a little filament/cannula is inserted under the skin and you then put the needle in that to inject your insulin so you aren't actually inserting the needle into your skin, I think each port has a...

    Pre bolus timing

The only way to really pre bolus successfully without risking a hypo in my opinion is a Libre or CGM, I myself need more than 15 minutes for breakfast, 10 minutes for dinner and only 5 minutes for tea, it also depends on where you are injecting as each area has a different absorption rate, also...

    Ophthalmology appointment

"He's only 27" may I ask why that makes a difference? I was diagnosed Type 1 in November 2016 at 24, in the December I received news of my first related eye problems after just turning 25, I have went through countless eye injections and the first 2 were done ASAP before the Christmas of 2016...
