Is alcohol lowering my meter readings?

I'm reasonably well controlled T2 with diet and exercise but have the odd splurge when I eat out. Can I mimic diabetes?

For debate only: If I take a man with normal blood sugars off the street and pump him full of carbs and sugar for 3 months and then do a HBa1C test that results in a reading of say 7.4% would the NHS register him as diabetic? Secondly, could I 'cure' him of diabetes? Sent from the Diabetes...

    Sugar v Fat

I just read that and set sky to record! It's interesting and also one of the reasons why I've taken my foot off the gas on my low carb lifestyle. I'm still low but have switched from less than 30g to less than around 75g. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Follow me

Cutting potatoes out together is the best advice. However, I have a couple of roast potatoes with Sunday lunch and once or twice a month I have shepherds pie with reduced mash. That's my compromise and the readings, for me, are acceptable. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Morning blood sugar levels

DP is new to me but having read the link it would seem perhaps (?) that morning testing could give you an indication of your insulin sensitivity. Is that a fair comment? Would it apply more to type 2? I know very little about type 1 or the other variations. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
