What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@jjraak thanks! I know I’m only finished week 1 of 8, but it hasn’t been too bad tbh. Been a bit tired and lazy, but I’m constantly tired anyway with my conditions. So nothing unusual for me. Tomorrow will be a big test, and I’m considering taking out my insulin in case I have food out, better...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.9 this morning, after sleeping like a log all night, for the first time ever I’ve got a break in data from them libre after I didn’t scan for over 8 hours. I got a suitable T-shirt for pride tomorrow, just gonna take it easy today. Hope everyone has a good day! Hugs to all that need or want them.

Get insulin prescription from Doctor using SystmOnline

With these online systems, once the doctor has seen you they will put the specific item, dose, and amount on your repeat prescription, then it just a case of ticking the box for what you want. Ask for your insulin, needles, testing strips, and lancets all on your repeat. Edit: adding a pic of...

    Blood sugar levels

Hi Gary, I agree that the adjustments to your diet might help, I will add that illness is enough to send sugar levels all over the place, if your MS has degenerated a bit recently, the less mobility might be all that it’s taken to send your numbers higher. Also bit personal I know, but if your...

    Kite insulin patch

I maybe wrong but it looks like a hi tech version of the iPort injection port. This kite devices also measures the dose as you inject it and sends it to your phone, but I doubt it can tell the difference between different insulin’s. https://mmc.medtronic-diabetes.co.uk/iport/ Edit: If I needed...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. A 5.9 from the Libre today. Trying to decide if I go for a root around in local charity shops for some rainbow or brightly coloured stuff. Saturday Im going to my first pride parade, I kinda went to a smaller one in town last year but went in normal clothes and pretended I wasn’t...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.6 this morning and a pretty flat line all night according to the Libre. I have to say it’s crazy how often food is on tv. Not just advertising for food, other things also use food to advertise and food being part of the script in tv programs. Also I’m noticing how frequently food becomes the...

    Type 2 Employment medical

Hi @dannym17 what exact job on the railway station are you going for? Is it a safety critical role, ie train dispatch? Or non safety critical, ie ticket office? Every train company will vary slightly on their requirements for different positions, but I used to work for South West Trains so could...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.7 this morning, which I’m more than happy with. I’m feeling quite tired this morning, and right now a duvet session sounds very good. However I’ve got 2 crafting sessions to do today, one via FaceTime with my friend in Manchester she will be doing her sewing and I’m beading a train, and one...

    freestyle libre sensor and reader

Well done on bringing down the hab1c. I second that the Libre is great for seeing your sugars. I know it’s expensive but even a sensor or two will help people see a much clearer picture than a half dozen finger pricks a day. I’m debating if to carry on with Libre once I’ve settled into a routine...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I noticed the same thing, but with the Libre I see when my fbs is higher it’s usually DP starting a bit earlier then the climb from breakfast isn’t as much. Breakfast and DP combined make the spike pretty high.

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.2 this morning, again no insulin, but within an hour I’d climbed to 7.1 before breakfast. As I’m out all day today I couldn’t wait till I’d come down for breakfast so gonna be really high in a couple of hours. I wonder if DP and Foot on the Floor syndrome are things for non diabetics also.

To lie or not to lie?

Rather than lie, could you count your carbs (carby veg) carefully, and respond with “yes I am eating carbs, I’m eating between 30-50g a day” (or however much, if it’s carbs they can assume it’s from their foods) Maybe up your milk intake, that’s surprisingly high in carbs.

    Headache

@Wurst if you already wear glasses, it might be an idea to get your eyes retested before seeing the dr, otherwise they are likely to suggest seeing the opticians rather than helping with your headache. If your eyes have changed you may need new glasses, if they haven’t having the results from...

    Headache

Totally different line of thought, when did you last have an eye test, not the diabetic screening but test if you need glasses?

What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.3 this morning, that’s without any insulin since Friday morning. I only seem to be spiking about 1-1.5 with my shakes, and generally keeping a nice level line. I’m surprised that I don’t need my insulin so quickly, but I know I’ve got to stick with it for the duration to repair my body and...

Type 2 Getting used to lower numbers

Maybe your just fighting of a slight bug, not enough to make you unwell, but enough that your body’s using a bit more energy than normal. Maybe an early night and plenty of rest tonight.

Type 2 Getting used to lower numbers

If you’ve just started low carb eating there’s a thing called carb/Keto flu, as your body gets used to having little carbs in the diet.
